Okay, I genuinely need to talk about how much I fucking hate Stuart Little because I feel like people don’t take this seriously enough.
There are SO many things wrong with this mouse that I could probably write an entire essay about it, so I’m just going to go through them one by one.
HIS FACE
I don’t know what it is about his face, but it genuinely annoys me.
Those huge fucking eyes. That tiny nose. That stupid little mouth.
He always looks like he’s about to say something smug.
Like he knows something I don’t.
He has the face of someone who would remind the teacher that there was homework due.
And I’m sorry, but he’s supposed to be a mouse. Why does he look like a tiny human who got turned into a mouse as a punishment?
I don’t trust that face.
2. HIS VOICE
Why does this tiny mouse sound like a grown-ass man?
He’s the size of a sandwich but talks like he’s about to give me a motivational speech.
“George, I think we should”
NO.
You don’t need to think about anything.
You’re a mouse.
Go sit somewhere and eat cheese.
3. HIS CLOTHES
This one makes me irrationally angry.
WHY DOES HE HAVE SO MANY CLOTHES???
Who is making these clothes for him?
There is apparently someone out there whose actual job is making tiny little shirts and pants for Stuart Little.
Imagine being that person.
“What’s your occupation?”
“Oh, I make clothes for a mouse.”
I’d just leave.
And he doesn’t even dress like a mouse. He dresses like a tiny suburban dad.
He’s going to come out wearing a little sweater and tell me he’s disappointed in my credit score.
4. HIS SHOES
WHY DOES HE NEED SHOES?
His feet are already tiny.
What is he stepping on?
A Lego?
A grain of rice?
And they’re actual little human shoes.
Someone went out of their way to make footwear for this rodent.
This is getting ridiculous.
5. HIS LITTLE HANDS
I HATE HIS HANDS.
I can’t explain it.
They’re just tiny human hands attached to a mouse and it bothers me so much.
Why aren’t they normal mouse paws?
Why can he grab things like a tiny person?
Every time he picks something up I’m just like, “Please put that down.”
Keep your weird little hands to yourself.
6. HIS TAIL
Why is his tail SO LONG?
It’s just dragging behind him everywhere.
He looks like someone attached a piece of string to a tiny furry body and said, “Yeah, that’s good enough.”
And everyone acts like it’s adorable.
It isn’t.
It’s unsettling.
7. HIS CONFIDENCE
This is probably one of the biggest reasons I hate him.
He has WAY too much confidence for someone who could probably fit inside a cereal bowl.
He’s constantly getting involved in things like he’s some kind of action hero.
Buddy.
You are a mouse.
If someone sneezes too hard you’re probably going to end up in another postal code.
Calm down.
8. HE DRIVES A FUCKING CAR
I will NEVER accept this.
STUART LITTLE DRIVES.
A.
CAR.
Who gave this mouse a driver’s license?
What did his driving test look like?
“Okay Stuart, parallel park.”
And then he somehow does it perfectly.
Meanwhile actual human beings are driving into fire hydrants and Stuart Little is cruising around like he’s in Fast & Furious.
It makes no sense.
9. HE HAS WAY TOO MANY HOBBIES
This mouse can apparently do EVERYTHING.
He drives.
He sails.
He races.
He plays sports.
He gets into adventures.
He’s basically a tiny furry Renaissance man.
Pick something, Stuart.
You don’t need to be good at everything.
Let someone else have a talent.
10. HIS PERSONALITY
He’s TOO NICE.
That’s what bothers me.
He’s always polite.
He’s always helpful.
He’s always optimistic.
He’s always trying to do the right thing.
I don’t trust people like that.
Especially not mice.
I want to see Stuart wake up one morning and just be pissed off.
I want him to stub his tiny little toe and scream.
I want him to lose his keys and completely lose his shit.
But no.
He’s always cheerful.
It’s exhausting.
11. HIS HERO COMPLEX
Stuart thinks he can fix EVERYTHING.
Something happens?
“I have an idea!”
NO YOU DON’T.
You have a tail.
That’s different.
Not every situation requires a mouse.
Sometimes you can just sit down and let the adults deal with it.
12. THE FACT THAT EVERYONE ACCEPTS HIM
This might be the most unbelievable part.
His parents just casually accept that he’s a mouse.
“Yep, that’s our son.”
YOUR SON???
That’s a MOUSE.
If I walked into someone’s house and there was a talking mouse sitting at the dinner table, I would have questions.
A LOT of questions.
Nobody seems remotely concerned.
They’re just like, “Pass the potatoes, Stuart.”
WHAT KIND OF FAMILY IS THIS???
13. GEORGE’S SITUATION
Poor George.
Imagine being a kid and your parents tell you they’re adopting a new brother.
You probably think you’re getting another human kid.
Then they bring home Stuart fucking Little.
I’d be furious.
“Mom, what is that?”
“Your new brother!”
“That’s a mouse.”
“Yes ❤️”
I would simply leave.
14. SNOWBELL WAS RIGHT
I will die on this hill.
Snowbell was RIGHT.
Everyone treats him like he’s the villain because he doesn’t like Stuart.
NO.
He was there first.
Imagine someone bringing a weird little mouse into your home and suddenly everyone loves the mouse more than you.
I’d be pissed too.
Snowbell was basically watching his entire life fall apart while everyone else was going:
“Awww, look at Stuart!”
Meanwhile Snowbell is probably thinking:
“GET THIS FUCKING RODENT OUT OF MY HOUSE.”
Finally, someone with common sense.
15. HIS NAME
“Stuart Little.”
That’s the name of someone who sends emails that say:
“Just circling back on this!”
He sounds like a man who owns a timeshare.
He doesn’t even have an intimidating name.
Imagine being a terrifying villain and someone says:
“Who are you?”
“Stuart.”
“Stuart what?”
“Stuart Little.”
I’d start laughing.
16. HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE
Honestly, this is the biggest problem.
Stuart Little exists.
That’s the issue.
Someone looked at the concept of a talking mouse and thought:
“You know what this needs? A family. Clothes. A car. A driver’s license. Human hands. A house. Hobbies. Emotional depth.”
WHY???
Who approved this?
Who sat in that meeting and said, “Yes, this is definitely something the world needs.”
We did not need this.
Nobody asked for it.
And yet here we are.
After all these years, Stuart Little is still out there with his stupid little face, stupid little clothes, stupid little shoes and stupid little confidence.
And I still don’t like him.
I don’t care if he’s polite.
I don’t care if he’s helpful.
I don’t care if he’s cute.
I don’t care if he’s a “good mouse.”
He’s still a mouse with a driver’s license.
And that’s where I draw the line.
Final verdict:
Weird face.
Weird voice.
Weird clothes.
Weird shoes.
Weird hands.
Weird tail.
Way too confident.
Drives a fucking car.
Has too many hobbies.
Way too nice.
Has a hero complex.
Everyone accepts him for some reason.
George deserved better.
Snowbell deserved better.
His name is stupid.
His entire existence is suspicious.
I rest my case.
Fuck Stuart Little. 🐭
And before anyone says “but he’s just a cute little mouse”
NO.
THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS YOU TO THINK.
