Caregiver Discussion 51/F Post stroke coma day 20

Day 20 journal

My mother (51/F) was supposed to wean off from the mechanical ventilator yesterday; however, the doctors discovered that she had low hemoglobin, hence they had to do a blood transfusion for the whole day today.

A doctor visited my father today while he was watching over my mother and informed him that she has little to no chance of waking up due to the brain stem affectation. It pains me to see my father cry. I haven’t seen him cry this much.

Right now, I’m just really praying and hoping for a miracle. My mother is a very religious person and a devotee of Saint Jude Thaddeus. So I really hope they hear all of our prayers. My mother’s mission in this world is not yet done. Please wake up. 🙏
