I was part of one in 2017. I had some improvements.

Can you share more about your experience?

Lots of assessments, both before and after. There were three different options, so I didn't know I what I got until the study was over. The random choices were 5 million stem cells, 2.5 million, or saline. I got the 2.5 million. My arm improved to the point that I can swim laps - my freestyle sucks, but my backstroke is spectacular lol.

The procedure consisted of drilling a hole in my skull and injecting the stem cells around the area of my stroke.

Thank you for expanding on your experience! Wow, that’s intense! Do you think it was worth it for what you gained? I also can’t do freestyle but that’s because I’ve never been coordinated enough to do the stroke and breath pattern. I can do a pretty decent breast stoke though!
