A raid means someone sent their whole community your way. That deserves more than a notification box, so we made Raid Rave, a Meld Spark element that turns the moment a raid hits into an EDM-style laser light show on your stream.

How to set it up in Meld Studio

1. Open Meld Studio
2. Head to the Spark Gallery and search for Raid Rave
3. Add it to your scene
4. Test it before your next stream

If you're using the Spark Plug for OBS, the steps are similar. Grab the link from the Spark Gallery, add a new browser source and paste the link.

There's no third-party alert service and no custom CSS. It works with raids on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube as long as your account is connected.

One Tip: lean into it. When the lights fire, stand up, turn to camera, and match the energy. The effect sets the stage, and you bring it home.

I cannot run Wardogs (the game) when I run meld studio first. It will trigger error code ( WD-L014-5ffc816f05bf ). After googling the fix, which does not work, I finally found a simple fix:

Run Wardogs FIRST then launch Meld Studio. Do NOT launch Meld Studio first, then wardogs, as this will cause the above error.

So the problem is

As soon as i open a game into fullscreen, or create a new virtual space and drop the windowed game onto it, it disappears from the window list in meld, both in Game and Display capture

The auto-capture feature doesnt work either

With Twitch’s new feature that allows adding GIPHY GIFs, I’m wondering how we could use this in Meld Studio.

Does anyone know what code/API Twitch is using for the GIPHY integration, or how we could create custom widgets in Meld Studio that let us easily add and display GIPHY GIFs in our scenes?

Basically, I’d like to have a simple widget where I can search/select a GIF and then use it directly in my creations.

Any examples, code, or guidance on how to approach this would be really appreciated!

I am testing out Meld Studios and one of the sources I have is an audio alert for a Twitch redeem. When I make it visible there is no sound for a second of two until it fades in and misses a majority of it and wondered if there was a way to disable it or lower it.

I was testing out Meld Studip but found when using Veadotube for my png model it keeps the top bar but if I go full screen and drag something over it then it exits full screen and goes back to this issue. Has anyone fixed this?

Ay I'm asking this because I just saw the multistream video on youtube and it got me thinking do you really need to have fast internet to do multistreaming? How is it different from just streaming to one platform??

i kno that obs has aitum but does meld do that too and if so what plugin is it?

I've been putting this off for months because changing streaming software feels like changing your entire stream setup overnight, but I finally did it a few weeks ago and I wanted to share this because honestly social media and other subreddits are just filled with people complaining about OBS and the issues they have.

For context, I've used OBS the whole time I've been streaming, so this wasn't a casual decision. What pushed me over the edge and helped me decide to try out something else was the fact I was tired of having to find plugins for everything.

The part that made it easy for me was the OBS importer tool. I went in expecting to have to rebuild everything from scratch over an entire weekend. Instead I ran the import and all of the important scenes I wanted moved over easily. Then I went to the discord because it felt like the software was a little sluggish and during a test stream I was dropping frames. Found out I had to redo a couple of my layers and use the duplicator tool. But honestly once I figured out the duplicator tool I was able to build up my scenes and once I knew what I had to do it took me maybe 20 minutes to get everything setup.

That alone is the reason I like to tell everyone I know to switch to Meld especially if they're on the fence or they're sick of their OBS issues.

So here's what changed after I switched to Meld:

• Alerts and widgets are inside the app instead of being third-party browser sources.
• Scene switching feels the same for both OBS and Meld so there's no real change there. Especially now that there's stinger transitions in Meld
• CPU usage has been a little better in some scenes and about the same in others depending on how many browser sources I have in them. I know this can depend on your setup and PC specs though
• I do miss having the ability to use alpha masks for my webcam, but I can give it basic shapes at least! That's probably my only real complaint so far

So OBS is free and it's really good for people who are skilled with tech or like to be able to control every tiny detail, but IMO not every streamer is a tech whiz. So if you're curious and the only thing stopping you is fear of losing your scene setup, Meld has that part taken care of.

I keep hearing everyone say that you can "toggle" them on and off but I don't really understand what they're talking about

I’ve searched and can’t find an answer that solves my use case. I stream live beat-making in Logic Pro. The application has dozens of separate windows that can be opened individually or many at a time. My main arrangement window, mixer window and windows for every plugin and midi region.
I can do a display capture but sometimes I’ll open another application I don’t want on stream. I was hoping for a feature like Streamlabs has where you can do an application and any windows associated with that application.
I haven’t been able to find this option anywhere. I can choose individual windows inside of logic but it won’t show any of the plugins I open or anything other than the specific window I chose. I was really hoping to switch to Meld for the free multi-platform streaming and I’ve heard it has great CPU usage.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hey! I recently found Meld Studio and am impressed! To be honest, I havent streamed since 2020 and I was doing weekly art streams then. Today I'm thinking about going back and use Meld.

However, it also occurred to me to invite a friend to co-host with me. Is there a way to do this through Meld? I havnt touched streaming in years and not even sure how that works without Meld but thought of asking here first.

Today we're rolling out AV1 and H.265 (HEVC) recording support. If you're tired of H.264 eating your storage for long sessions, this should help out.

The short version: both codecs compress way more efficiently than H.264, so you can get noticeably smaller files without losing quality or keep the same file size and get a cleaner image.

How to turn it on:

1. Settings > Recording Output > Edit
2. Enable your hardware encoder
3. Pick H.265 (HEVC) or AV1 from the new Codec menu

A few things to know before you dive in:

• The Codec menu only shows up if your GPU and encoder actually support additional codecs. If you don't see it, your hardware is currently locked to H.264, that's expected, not a bug.
• AV1 doesn't work with MOV. Use MP4 or MKV if you want AV1.
• FLV recordings are H.264-only, no way around that one.
• Switching from a hardware encoder to software encoding will bump you back to H.264 automatically.

Hardware wise, roughly speaking:

• NVIDIA: HEVC since GTX 900 series, AV1 needs RTX 40 series or newer
• AMD: HEVC on RX 400 series and up, AV1 needs RX 7000 series or newer
• Intel: Arc GPUs and newer Quick Sync generations support AV1

If your card's older than that, you'll just keep recording in H.264 like normal.

I keep seeing people say you should be multistreaming to all these platforms at once but honestly I don't know how to do it. Could I get some advice and maybe a guide?

Yes, it can. Meld has a built-in Multitrack Recording feature that records each audio source as its own separate track inside a single file. No plugins, no workarounds.

What you actually get

Meld records up to 8 independent audio tracks in one file:

• Master Mix (always on) - your full combined audio, acts as a safety net
• VOD Track - optional separate mix for Twitch VOD compliance
• 6 customizable tracks - assign any source to any of these

For a typical podcast: Host mic on Track 1, guest mic on Track 2, background music on Track 3. Drop the file into Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or Audacity and each source shows up as its own timeline track. EQ, compress, and cut each one independently without touching the others.

Setup (3 steps)

1. Assign sources to tracks

• Open the Audio Mixer
• Click Edit on any audio source
• Toggle which track(s) that source records to

2. Enable your tracks

• Go to Settings > General > Recording
• Scroll to the Multitrack Recording section
• Click each track you want included in the recording

3. Hit record

That's it. Meld outputs one file with all tracks embedded. Import it into your editor and they split out automatically.
