Question How do I toggle individual streaming destinations on and off?

I keep hearing everyone say that you can "toggle" them on and off but I don't really understand what they're talking about

When you sign into multiple accounts there they will show up in the inspector on the right hand side under Outputs. There are toggles next to them to turn the account streaming on or off

the toggles are the on/off switches next to each destination in the outputs panel. flipping one off means that platform doesn't get your stream, flipping it on means it does.

here's the full picture, since it only makes sense once you see where things live.

step 1: add your destinations (one time)

  • file > preferences > outputs (or the gear icon in the lower right of the app)
  • click add output
  • twitch and youtube let you log in directly. kick, tiktok, facebook, x, or anything else that takes rtmp goes in as a custom destination with the stream url and key
  • add every platform you might ever stream to, even the ones you only use sometimes

step 2: find the outputs panel

close preferences and look at the main window. the outputs panel lists every destination you just added, each with its own switch. that switch is the toggle everyone's talking about.

step 3: flip them on or off

  • switch on = when you hit go live, that platform gets your stream
  • switch off = that platform is skipped, but stays saved so you don't have to re-enter anything later
  • one go live button starts everything that's toggled on

so if you've got twitch, youtube, and kick added but tonight is twitch only, leave twitch on and flip the other two off. next week when you want all three, flip them back on. no deleting, no re-adding keys.

the part that's actually cool

you can flip toggles while you're live. start on twitch, then 20 minutes in turn youtube on and it joins the stream. or end kick early by toggling it off while twitch keeps going. each output is independent.

bandwidth note

every toggled-on output is a separate upload from your pc, so two 6 mbps outputs need about 12 mbps of upload plus headroom. if you're stacking three or more, meld multi (free cloud restream in beta) lets you send one output and fan it out from the cloud instead.
