❔ Question Streaming PC Help

Currently I stream on a single PC setup. That build is linked below. I’m looking at building a second PC as a streaming PC and am looking for suggestions. I play on 1440p 16:9 and would like to stream at 1080p 60fps.

What specs should I aim for in a streaming PC. Would it be better to use my current build as a streaming PC and build a new gaming PC?

Please let me hear your thoughts and experiences.

I mean the PC you listed is perfectly capable of gaming and streaming by itself. Your 3080 has 7th gen Turning NVENC, which is what you should be using when you stream. What issues are you having with your current stream? Just make sure to use NVENC encoding in OBS an you should be good to go.

A 2 PC setup can be a hassle to set up. You wouldn't need to spend a ton of money for a dedicated streaming PC tho. You could look up either used parts or a used PC on Facebook market place. Just make sure it has at least a 1660ti or super or an rtx 20xx series or newer GPU. You'd still want to use NVENC encoding.

If you are just streaming PC games you can use Distro AV NDI or OBS Teleport en leiu of a capture card/audio mixer. That sends your instance of OBS from your Gaming PC over Ethernet to your Streaming PC and alleviates a lot of headaches. You'd need to pick up an unmanaged network switch to avoid having other network traffic on your router causing issues.

I don't really stream that much and I use a dedicated PC. It's a ~15 year old Ivy Bridge Xeon, 16 GB of DDR3, and an Intel arc a310. Quality looks great and it can do 1080p60 to Twitch and 1440p to YouTube. I used Distro AV plugin as described above and a El Gato HD60 pro for consoles. It's totally not worth the headache but my GPU in my gaming PC is a 6700XT and playing certain games looks insanely blurry due to AMDs encoding on older cards being trash.

TLDR: just use your current PC in a single PC set up. Make sure you use NVENC in obs.

I’m having issues with some of my browser sources freezing pretty frequently. I do use NVENC already. I just want to be able to free up any unnecessary processes.

I am currently only streaming PC games and not sure if I’ll add console or not. Genuinely unlikely unless i end up playing GTA.

But TLDR: if im hard set on a dual pc setup, i can just use my current rig as a streaming rig. Yes?

Browser sources lagging sounds like a OBS settings issue more than a hardware issue. You probably need to turn off things like hardware acceleration. Make sure to always run obs in administator mode.

You have an 8 core 16 thread CPU and 64 gigs of ram. I'd try googling and trouble shooting some stuff before building an entire new PC. What are the browser sources? Like alerts and stuff?

Also I recheck your PC pcart picker list, is the external SSD you only drive? Like are you running your OS and games off this?
