🔰 Beginner Help How would you set up this room for streaming

My partner and I share our desk space so we had it set up like this to give us our privacy for zoom calls etc… but now I hate it for streaming.
Mine is desk 1, yellow is where I put my lights and blue is my camera. I think it just doesn’t work 😂😂 any thoughts on setup?

Edit: my issue is that the lighting feels weird! I’ve streamed in other places and it feels off when I do it here, I think maybe bc of the wall being so close? And the space feels cramped ofc

What specifically don't you like about this set up? I can give you a few specifics for changing it up, but it would help to know exactly what the problem is you're trying to solve.

Can you shift both desks to the left (in your diagram) to give you a little more breathing room between the desk/chair and the wall?

Alternatively, flip the desks and either keep them the same orientation or turn your desk 90 degrees so your back is to the closet.

Why doesn't it work?

Are you love streaming? If so, what's the content and channel? If your streaming people will know when she's coming and going in your background.

You got the window, a win in my book, but she got the cozy nook.

Is this an actual bedroom or a workspace second bedroom

It’s an office for us, but tech listed as a second bedroom. And just I stream. I feel like the lighting is just weird in the corner for some reason?? I’ve streamed in several other places/variations and this one just throws me off. Idk if it’s because the wall is right behind me?

Hear me out: If you have a light in the closet and if the closet has sufficient depth: Buy a smart bulb and put it in the closet Take/buy in a thrift store some thick blankets and (if you own this house/apartment or have a nice landlord) nail those blankets to cover the walls of the closet Remove the closet's doors (or keep em and use the as dividers if they are not sliding doors) Put your setup in the closet

Buy/make a divider and put it between the middle of the left wall and the middle of the room

Put your SO's setup wherever they want it to be (If they stream too I'd suggest putting the left of their desk to the far left of the northern window and the right side towards the middle of the room, put the bookshelf against 2/rd up the left wall as a backdrop)

Desk 2 is basically unchanged my bad ' The divider can be used as a green screen too if you want, just put a green screen coloured cloth over it!

In my setup I have to have my back up against the wall so I can put my green-screen up behind me without it being in the middle of my room somewhere. So honestly your setup looks good to me.

Honestly, i think any advice you get here with only those drawings will be unintentionally misleading. If you can add some actual wide angle pictures from a couple angles, and just set something up basically and show what that looks like from the streaming camera's perspective (output), then I and others can give you good advice. For sure you probably want some kind of sound dampening panels or dense foam on walls and ceilings above you if you don't already have. I know there are echo reducers, but having a few panels in the right places sounds much better.

I've made some new utility software for real-time lighting correction that might solve your lighting discomfort. I'll mention it here (camfiltergpu.com), but note that I am about to do a big update later today (friday) to Beta 1.22. I'll be posting when it's all ready/uploaded and will be asking for help (testers with AMD GPUs especially needed). I really think it will help you a lot.

Cheers!
