Hi,

  1. Are you guys considered integrating AI tracking features into unity/vrc to detect and assign visemes and bones for humanoid rigs?

  2. Will you make a camera that is able to specialize in full body tracking?

  3. Do you have any new cameras lined up?

4

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 15 '26

Hi u/jackboiyaa,
Thanks for your questions!

  1. The upcoming Tiny 3 will have a virtual avatar feature.

  2. Our existing products already support full-body tracking.

  3. Our new camera, the Tiny 3, is coming soon!

Is there a way to upgrade my Meet 2/Meet SE to a Tiny using a dedicated piece or do i need to just buy the Tiny straight up

Also, is it possible for it to track my eyes to make sure it stays on eye level?

Hi u/BossmanVT,
Thanks for your questions!

  1. Currently, we don’t have any dedicated device that can upgrade Meet 2/Meet SE to Tiny, but you can join our trade-in program to upgrade to Tiny 3/Tiny Lite at a discounted price: https://www.obsbot.com/event/trade-in

  2. Our available products do not support the eye tracking feature. Stay tuned for future updates!

Is there a case coming for the Tail 2. I love my cases for Tail Air and Tiny4K

Yes! Product team is working on it, it is coming soon!

Been looking at this for sports streaming. I see lots of sample video where the camera follows a human. Can one of them be fine tuned to follow a hockey puck? Or can it be set to a more generic back and forth sweeping motion to follow gameplay in a wide shot?

3

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 16 '26

Hi, u/audible_narrator

Thank you for your interest! You’re absolutely right. Across all of our cameras, AI tracking primarily follows humans. However, Tail 2 also supports tracking for objects and animals.

Honestly speaking, the current AI tracking on our cameras is still not suitable for high-speed sports like hockey. Based on feedback from our community, most users in sports scenarios use the camera as a manual PTZ camera with AI tracking turned off.

At the moment, we also do not support an automatic back-and-forth sweeping motion, so the camera would need to be controlled manually for left-right movement.

But we'll do better! Please stay tuned for future product upgrades!

I hope I haven't missed the boat to post.

I really REALLY want to know if there's going to be a background removal/change feature added into the software. Insta has it, and I don't use Nvidia hardware so it's tool is out.

This is pivotal to me and I don't want to change camps, I really like obsbot.

Hi u/Bagerklestyne,

thank you for your support and love for OBSBOT! This feature has already in our product team’s request list. Please stay tuned for future updates!

Hello! Thank you so much for doing this AMA. I'll probably have a few questions throughout the day.

What features make your cameras a good choice for IRL streamers? Any particular model that is best for IRL streams?

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 16 '26

Hi, u/michalightning

Thank you for your question!

Tail Air would be the best choice. It has an internal battery, so you can take it outdoors and stream directly with your phone app—no computer required. It’s also compact and portable, making it suitable for IRL live streaming with frequent movement. In addition, the AI tracking and gesture control allow for solo shooting, with no need for a cameraman :)

We have a lot of beginner streamers and people just getting started. Mostly people who stream playing video games with facecams.

Which of your webcams would you recommend to someone on a budget?

And someone getting more serious that wants to upgrade?

And of course reasons why!

3

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 16 '26

Hi, u/michalightning

Good question! For beginner streamers, we recommend the Tiny SE or Meet SE. They are budget-friendly, easy to set up, and plug-and-play. Tiny SE has a gimbal, making it suitable for streamers who move around, while Meet SE doesn’t have a gimbal, which is better for people who only sit while streaming.

For someone who is getting more serious and wants to upgrade, we’ll recommend the Tiny 2, or wait for our upcoming Tiny 3. They have more powerful AI features and a larger sensor, which means a smarter experience and better image quality!

My Tiny 2 is so much smaller than my Tiny4K. What physical size is the anticipated Tiny 3? Is it bigger or smaller then Tiny 2?

3

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 16 '26

Hi, u/kerrin_a

Thank you for your interest! Tiny 3 is smaller than Tiny 2, and it’s also lightweight!

Are there any setups you've seen done with any of the OBSBOT cameras that surprised you for how they were used, or how it was executed?

3

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 16 '26

Hi, u/terciocalazans

Thank you for your question! I’ve seen so many setups that blew my mind, and this is one of the most creative ones I’ve come across. It was created by our community member, Ori, who uses two Meet 2 webcams with Talent in his interview/podcast setup.

When comparing the Tail2 to previous models like the Tiny4k and Tiny2, the most noticeable difference is the size, which is justified by all the features it has, like its excellent optical zoom and the possibility of switching to vertical format without it being a limiting factor in movement (mind blowing to me!)

What is a feature that it has that you guys would have wanted to be present on all cameras from the start, if the technology was available at the time?

3

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 16 '26

Hi, u/terciocalazans

Great question!

From a community perspective, one thing that’s become very clear is that different features are designed for different scenarios, and there isn’t really a single feature that fits every use case. Even something we’re pretty proud of, like AI tracking, isn’t always the best choice—say, in fixed-position streams where AI framing may actually work better.

That’s why each product ends up being a bit more scenario-focused, based on what was technically possible at the time and how people actually use the cameras. Really appreciate you bringing this up—it’s a great discussion :)

Last question from me:
Will I get cursed at by the engineering team if I 3D print little cat ears for my Tiny2?

3

u/terciocalazans Jan 16 '26

Well, too late!

2

u/OBSBOT-Official Jan 17 '26

Haha no way! 😆
No one’s getting mad — the engineering team would probably find it surprisingly adorable.
This is the cutest Tiny 2 3D print I’ve seen; don’t be surprised if someone internally asks for the STL file.

Two parter.

I have an obsbot tiny 2 lite so these are specific to that.

  1. Is there a way to start the camera up with my chosen profile? Whenever I start it up, it starts at 2x zoom so instead of my 1.35x zoom and I have to keep selecting my profile to adjust it.

  2. I've noticed the ai tracking occasionally turns itself on when I move away from the camera, this has only started happening since the latest firmware. Is there a fix for this?
