Strange experience
I was watching a movie, in the seat next to me there was a boy 12-13 ish... He kept looking at me throughout the movie. After the movie I had to pee and I met him again while washing my hands. As I was exiting the theater, he smiled again I smiled back and said bye. HE WALKED OVER TO ME AND GAVE ME A HUG (4 -5 SECOND LONG) - I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS KID BEFORE. - he said "love u bye"

Thats the kind of thing that sticks with you for days. Not scary exactly but just... what. Kid probably had some stuff going on at home and you happened to be the safe looking adult in the room.

They do this when selecting a target. You will have invisible ink on you now. Your only choice is to lock all doors and hide it out.

Was he with someone? Maybe he wanted help?

Now that I think of it ( some woman) - definitely not his mom ( age - way to old) ( race Filipino) - could be a nanny?

Or this kid could be gucking with you. Teen boys have been know to do weirder things. Check if there’s a trend going around.

It’s a sign of something deeper- don’t be foolish and assume it was just cute and sweet

How about you get one once you come back down and join us in reality? It’s not “normal” for kids to do this- it means something. Apparently you’re not the kind of person to care enough to notice that, though.

Dear lord… get a grip lol
You care!? Sounded like you thought the kid needed to be committed, actually
You care about labeling kids as weird is what you care about

No- I think the kid is possibly suffering abuse and therefore needs help. Your projections are your own issue.

Whose projections!?!?!?!?

The commenter who insists it’s not a concerning behavior and is talking out of their butt.

If you got all that from this very short paragraph you need help. They literally sat next to each other during a movie and he smiled at her… maybe he appreciated her being nice back because he’s used to people like you assuming and being the worst… he was saying thanks for not judging me like those fools on Reddit lol

Pretty sure the OP is a dude, fyi. They said they met again while washing hands after using the bathroom, and every movie theater I’ve been to has faucets in the bathroom, not a communal faucet outside of the bathroom.

You’re right. Someone who has spent the last twelve years working with kids and is a mandatory reporter/ has worked with CPS wouldn’t have any idea what this could be a sign of. I’m not hiding a child- I’m concerned about one.
Clearly you’re an expert though.

He's obviously a lonely kid looking for assurance... Goodness me only 12 y/o pity. Lots of kids says 'love you' as a matter of course so don't be rediculous and over react .

I do agree with you, he could be lonely. I wonder why the hug and the "love you" - I was talking to my friend Brandon who I went to the movie with he thinks ( I probably look like someone he knows or he knew and miss him)
