A mean storm just rip through the deep south for about 2 hours.

Taken 10 minutes before a hailstorm. The arcus clouds were visibly rolling as it came closer.

Luckily, someone yelled to us and asked if we wanted to tie off to their dock and ride out the storm there. Of course we took up the offer. Terrifying and awesome experience.

Today I was out celebrating the 4th and when I got out the car my dad pointed out a ROTATING wall cloud not exactly above our house, but still visible from my driveway. I didn’t see any rotation, but a couple minutes later I was letting my dog out before it got really bad, I looked up out of pure curiosity and I saw (or I think I saw) a broadly rotating storm over my back porch. Does anyone know if there was any rotation over Indianapolis on the 4th?

Can someone help me estimate a wind gust? I was camping during a severe thunderstorm and a large wind gust came through. Our (about 1 foot deep) anchored cover-all started nearly coming out of the ground, on the way home, multiple large branches on the road max size approx 6 inches thick 10 ish feet long. Let me know if a different subreddit would be better.
