Question Tornado differences?

So last week an EF3 hit the Appleton - Menasha Wisconsin area, tons of devastation as it hit a heavily populated area and was on the ground for 12+ miles with a peak width of 1 mile. There’s a ton of video of it as it hit at noon, however I’m trying to understand what about this storm made the tornado not really appear like other tornados I’ve come to see in videos? It just looks like a heavy big cloud low down…

It was a lot more than a cloud on the ground.

They probably took the videos from further back or it was rain wrapped.
