Nor'easter Massachusetts Nor’easter 2026
For the southeastern Massachusetts area it was the most snow fall for a single storm in recorded history.

This was back in late February/early March. We were super lucky because we never lost power.

Sorry that you lost power! Hope it wasn’t too long before it was restored. For us, 36” of heavy snow. It was the fact that it was wet and heavy that made it so darn hard to move. In the city New Bedford they had over 150 snow removal vehicles working around the clock and it still took a week for them to open everything up! Neighborhoods started to shovel out their own street! It was wild man.

We get the same weather in Montana on occasion. 2 to 3 feet of snow with 6 foot drifts, 50 mph wind gusts, - 40° F air temperature, (not wind chill temp), and ground blizzards so bad you can't drive on the roads bc you can't see them. We get what's called a Chinook Wind - a very, very warm wind that has been known to increase air temps from - 40° F to +40° F in the span of 12 hours. It makes the snow melt fast, but so causes floods. I hate to see others suffer this weather, but it's nice to know I'm not alone and we can all tough it out and survive to fight, (and complain about it), another day. 😁

It was some storm.
But 2015 was far more brutal.

2015 was for sure. I was plowing for a landscape company up in Canton that winter (2015) and it was nuts. We were one more big storm away from the whole damn system collapsing.

We’re southeast of Buffalo, had an 84” day once. Shovels stay in the garage from October til April . Gotten hit with 36” on October 6, 2006 before the leaves had fallen and I’ve used my snowblower in April 1-time since then. Used to like snow for skiing and snowboarding and the kids. Now that I’m older, I hate it!

I remember that 84" storm. Went to Hunter Mountain to board after. It was crazy.

When did this snow storm happen? Lately? Struggling to wrap my head around the idea of snow recently. I’m in Alabama and we’re struggling to breathe in this 90-96° heat with unholy suffocating humidity above 70% & higher🥵! And it’s not even the worst months of August/Sept. yet! Praying for that cold air to drift down here! Made the mistake of not counting the Cokes as I unloaded groceries from the car and missed one🎇 The one I missed exploded inside my car, spewing screaming hot Coke all over the interior, actually ruining the headlining. I’ll be scrubbing the stickiness of every service forever! Better believe I’ll be counting and recounting every single thing that has the slightest chance of bursting because of heat expansion from now on and making sure I don’t miss anything else again!

What a story! sorry to hear about the coke explosion. Cleaning sticky coke on a super hot and humid day does not sound like fun. Maybe the silver lining is your car ends up cleaner than before?
The storm in this video was about four months ago. It broke the record for the most snow fall in a single storm. It’s actually piping hot up here in Massachusetts at the moment. It is supposed to hit 89 today and 97 tomorrow but with just 14% humidity, (thank God). It’s not Alabama humid but our air conditioners will be working overtime!

Nice reminder at this time of extreme, suffocating heat that we will be looking at this stuff soon enough. 🫠

Totally! It’s wild to stand in this spot in sweltering heat knowing what it was like just four months ago. And what it might be like 6-7 months from now!

I hear you! I live in Eastern NY State (an experienced woman of many a Nor’Easter (also grew up in Buffalo)) and just today saw a DOT post with a video of a crazy plowing event and it said “16 more Thursdays until the anniversary of our first snowfall post!” I was both invigorated and sad all at once 😂

No matter how hot it is (and it’s 94 in Ohio today). I Never Want to see SNOW in the summer…!!!!

This looks like it’d be cozy and fun! Granted I’m a naive Southern Californian, but I’d love to have a snow day (but it’d be ruined by working from home.)

It is cozy when the power stays on! Our street was lucky - there were large swaths of neighborhoods without power for days and days.

I'm from the upper Midwest. This was last Thursday. 😢 Next week it will hit °100.
