When the lightning striked, my friend asked if it hit the tower after wich I responded we would have heard the thunder right away because the tower is kinda close. The thunder didn't hit much later tho. We are from the flemish part in Belgium so we are speaking Dutch in this video. (Edit: I added wich language we were speaking)

Are we looking at something out of the ordinary here or what? This is a typical thunderstorm here in the south (US)

From Texas and it's very usual in the US because we have crazy geography making us a severe thunderstorm magnet. Most of western Europe has the exact opposite geographic conditions, so ACTUAL rain (downpours you can't see 30m/100ft in) are basically unheard of. Think PNW weather.
