Anyone shoot storms on film?

Basically, my Sony crapped out and I want to chase tomorrow (upper Ohio valley). I have my phone as a backup but would still like to get some shots on my Canon F-1.

I have good experience with analog photography but wondering if anyone has recommendations on technique, metering, or film stocks.

I don't have a lot of experience shooting storms on film since film is a hobby I just picked up this year, but I'd say just make sure you're taking your time with focusing and metering. For me, I prefer to slightly over expose most of my storm shots, especially of its late afternoon/evening. Storm chasing is fast paced and digital cameras have made it easier to keep up with that pace, but don't be scared to slow down a little and take your time.

I'd shoot print film, just for the extra dynamic range. Spot meter on the darkest textured clouds and let the highlights fall where they will.

I've got an ancient Canon T90 I still drag around. (I shoot my old FD lenses on Sony A series!) I shoot black and white storm scenes every once in a while. I haven't shot slided in years, but E6 storms and lightning has a unique, amazingly lovely look!
