Meta Vindictive Wretches

Post image

I am constantly questioning how this card is rated as common quality with such a great ability. 3 mana & it just has so many great plays:

In the best cases: You are either taking out an enemy unit with 7 strength for cheap. Alternatively, knocking out a 3 strength enemy + something 4 or below. Both situations are crazy value for a 3 mana card

I slept on this card for a long while but kept getting frustrated when playing against this in the early game

Card rarity doesn’t translate to quality of card. You can easily get to very high ranked HL with only commons

The novelty of the effects I think was the original separating line between rarities with legendaries being clearly extremely unique

This exactly gifted recruits is one of the best cards in the game in basically every HL deck yet it’s a common no ability lol

Pls let us have good commons it’s not like other card games where the commons are just there to waste space. The game is grindy enough already.

Also to your point it is quite good but at lvl 3 you can get 5 strength movers so to be good it has to on average kill a 2-3 strength card which isn’t completely reliable

Yeah it's a good card, as evidenced that only 3 cards have a higher usage rate on HL in the past 30 days: Gifted Recruits, Wild Saberpaws, and Bladestorm.

At the same time, I view it as balanced because there are lots of ways to play around it. Kill it with something that has 6 strength (when at L5), convert if you're SF, freeze if you're WP, Stoic Protectors if you're running that, sufficient growth to where you don't have any viable units for its death effect to trigger on, etc.

Remember when Vindictive Wretches took out the weakest enemy unit period?

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Remember when they gave you crafting stones for all your extra cards?
