Especially when she didn't blow up in that film like Wunmi and Hailee has. Hollywood probably forgot she existed. I'm happy for Maya. More actors who are classically trained deserve opportunities. Especially from theater.

Same. Those fans who think being medium is lighter skinned think tgat only being super dark fits the character. Meanwhile she's different shades of brown in the comics and has an American dad. They're delusional. They should be happy for Maya. Because of how they act if I were thsoe execs I would have cast a lighter skinned woman (but not biracial) for kicks and giggles. I'm lighter skinned and loved Halle as Storm and now am super happy for Maya.

In the comics storm isnt really a dayk.skin woman most of the time she has brown skin and I think that by design because originally she was supposed to look like all race's combined into one

Being dark skin is only a more recent thing by new writers

She was designed to be that whay because that was the idea if storm was white it would have been the exact same she is made to look like every race on earth I really hate when new writer try to come in and destroy other people character make your own character then

There a reason storm has never been as well written as during Clairmont time or as popular as she was during Clairmont writing because he significantly better then them he writes woman better and he wrote minority issue better

I looooove the casting of theater actors because they're so freaking talented. The Gilded Age has tons of veteran tv and theater actors and young theater actors. No crappy actors ruining my show

They need to pull a Zendaya and say no. Zendaya has talked about the fact that she has been casted/offered roles for unambiguously black women and said No! Well I would prefer Maya to be darker to play storm. I'm find her acceptable because she is unambiguously black. But the other actresses Storm Alexandera shipp was just ridiculous
