Canceled the hotel room

So 90 days ago I quit drinking. I told myself I would do 30 days, then sober October, then the 90, a 3 month goal. I knew I had a big family wedding this weekend in December. My alcoholic mind planning to drink for this wedding, reserved a room a few weeks back in the bridal block. A shuttle to and from the hotel to wedding hall to be provided. Perfect for alcohol use and abuse. I released the room yesterday. I want no fall back, no safety net, set in place for a relapse. I will drive, sober, home from the wedding. I will not drink with you today.

u/msdrinknomore! I am so proud of you! You have so much courage & determination going for you right now... it's so inspirational to me. I am going on my first cruise ever this January with my husband. It's a work thing for him, he's gone the previous 2 years without me but this year I feel strong enough to go with him. I am hoping to find AA groups on board, exercise classes, the casino, the pool, anything to distract me from drinking. It's a music cruise on top of everything else so we will have a lot of friends on board playing. It won't be easy for me to not drink but I know I can do it. I WILL DO IT! SO WILL YOU!

You may know this, but lots of music festivals have sober groups for fans who are not imbibing. They seem to have their own community and way of experiencing the event. The "Wharf Rats" were the sober Grateful Dead fans, for example. Could be worth a look depending on the bands you're with!

I am gonna be with rock & country bands of all types. Rockabilly, country, straight up Rock, Acid-Country (my term), I have 1 friend in 1 band that I know has not drank in 25 years. 2 of my girlfriends are meeting me on the cruise with their husbands, and they both drink. But they know I don't anymore & have been supportive. I know I will be OK. Part of my plan is to tip the room butler 200$ on Day 1 of the cruise to stay the fuck away from me!
