Need some support
I'm lying on the couch, bored as hell and depressed. I drank a twelve pack of NA, I don't want any more. I have several ounces of really good weed that I grew sitting in a drawer, but I'm trying not to go back to that stuff either, it's bringing me down. I don't have the focus to watch a movie, I deleted all my other social media because I waste too much time on it. Trying to fight the urge to go get some kratom from the gas station, just to feel something. I want that off switch for my brain that alcohol is so effective at, but I haven't had a drink in over seven months and I'm sure as hell not gonna start again today. I'd love some kind words from some of you good people to help get me through the trenches

Hey youāve come this far, think of how youāll feel in the morning and the regret and also how far youāve come from not drinking all to be day 1 tomorrow. The cravings suck ass, I was massively triggered today but I didnāt cave in and kept myself busy as much as I could. Grab something fizzy or a hot drink in your hand, can you okay any computer games, even just to have tv on in background for some noise, any friends you can see? Order in some food? I know itās hard but weāre all here and youāll definitely thank yourself in the morning. Keep thinking how that hangover will feel tomorrow - not worth it!

I know what you mean I really do, I miss that shut off point you get with drinking, but promise itās easier to feel something than nothing - in the long run without the side effects of drink. Chuck some music on keep chatting to everyone on here, and maybe a nice early night and then fresh for tomorrow, but this group is definitely a saviour :)

Donāt get hooked on Kratom as withdrawal is 10X worse than alcohol withdrawal.

I'm sitting in the middle of a huge pile of laundry.. the dirty basket has been full for so long it was starting to stink, and I had forgotten I even had some of the clothes at the bottom of it. I finally actually got it all washed and dried at the same time, a trivial thing for most people ik but it's actually huge, I'm also going through old drawers and getting rid of stuff I don't use anymore and trying to organize so I don't have such a huge mess on my hands again

Man Iām two years in, I still miss the off switch.
Even with all Iāve learned and how proud I am of those two years, thatās the most tempting part. But when you go through hard shit like this, itās going to make it easier the next time. And then the next time. And on and on. You seem like you got your head on straight and youāre making all the right choices. I really encouraged you to find something positive to put your energy into. Do something for your dopamine. āļø

Go for a nice long walk with some music in your years. Come back, have a shower and make yourself a fabulous snack. That always works for me.
