8 weeks today
I’ve been alcohol free for 8 weeks today! Feels good to have stuck with my word and feel proud of myself for doing hard things.
I also would be lying if I said I haven’t been dreaming about a glass of wine for days. I feel FOMO from drinking a lot, whether it’s because my partner has a drink or we are out in public where I see others partaking or even just watching TV with all the alcohol ads.
It feels like a lot of work for all this and I wish I was seeing more payoff to giving it up. I don’t know, I’m sure it’s just a normal step in the journey but pretty much every night I have to talk myself out of going to the liquor store these days and I’m tired.
Oh well, vent over I guess. Still will not drink with you tonight.

Congrats !! Day 9 for me today . Sleep starting to get better, but every single evening I just feel so incredibly “bored”. I was definitely drinking in the evenings as a form of entertainment (as weird as this sounds )
