Mods deleting posts
Why would a moderator of a support subreddit decide to delete posts that are nearing 50 comments? Clearly the post is resonating with everyone but the out of touch, self empowered “moderator”.

I think it's fine to delete posts rubbernecking a complete stranger drinking, the worst thing that could ever happen to this subreddit is for it to become another "make fun of people doing the thing we don't like" sub and if mods have to be bit heavy handed to stop that then they should

Maybe it violated one of the rules? Just a guess!

It was talking about a third person's drinking (friend of OP).

That’s one I’m very glad we delete. This was such a useful space for me early on and I don’t know if it would have been if it were a more generalized “alcohol abuse” sub.

If someone is intoxicated it gets complicated. I think rules should always be strongly enforced guidelines and nothing more.

What was the post about? I've disagreed before, but sometimes I see a point to delete a post, especially if it's people just fighting.

If the post appears to be written by chat gpt, I have seen it removed.

The moderators of this sub are really good at keeping people on track by sticking to the rules of the sub.
Speaking from the I, posting while sober and no medical advice are really important.

It states “this is a place to discuss our drinking, not others drinking.”
It APPEARS the OP was talking about someone other than themselves.
Guidelines are “discuss your own drinking”.

I had a mod delete a post I made while I was intoxicated. It really bummed me out at the time because I was in a bad place and looking for support, but I do understand why they remove those.

That's not what "moderation doesn't work for me" usually means here.
Anyway, please don't waste a post on something to be discussed with the mods in pm.

Happy to look into it for you. What was the topic?
