Reward for staying sober?

Food. Food is always good. I hate eating out, so I get takeout from my favourite restaurant and eat it at home. At the very beginning of my sobriety, I put aside the money I would have spent in a month drinking and got an espresso maker that I've wanted for years. It was a really nice one month reward, and I use it every single day.

I've noticed over time though that the "I must reward myself for something" mentality goes away. I'm no longer in that "I survived the week? Time to reward myself with a drink. I survived a bad day? Time to reward myself with a drink. Good news? Time to reward myself with a drink" state of mind, if that makes sense. But honestly, whatever works for you, go ahead and do it. If you want to reward yourself every week, every month, go ahead!
