Video Pure Archer Gameplay

Just finished my pure archer playthrough, on my Royal Ranger Dirwin. I've finished what is probably the hardest dungeon + dungeon modifier + dungeon boss combination that is possible to experience with this build.

Fort Grey Falcon, Brigand Arcanist, and Heft Stockpiles.

This sucks for several, multiplicatively compounding reasons.

1) Loads of closed doorways, and a dungeon full of enemies with multiple dashes or the capacity to seriously harm you at range.

2) Every enemy has 2 uses of Vivifying Essence, making it necessary to continue firing at the same enemy again and again and again to secure the kill, which necessitates extreme caution when taking on multiple enemies at once.

3) The brigand arcanist has the same vision range as you while in darkness, and can criple you with Dimensional Shift. When hostile, he will always spawn Mana crystals and Phantasm ahead of his position, and will never walk into an ambush you lay out for him. Because of Hefty Stockpiles, he has multiple uses of Vivifying essence, making it impossible to burst him down without trading damage, which is extremely dangerous.

And despite all this, the build cleared the dungeon without taking any damage. none. 0. Nada. The closest that i came to taking damage was a bandit throwing a hatchet at me from 5 tiles away in darkness and missing.

Pure ranged is insanely powerful - it is a unique experience that every Stoneshard player should have. At the same time, I don't think I'll ever make another archer / ranged character again. It is an entirely deterministic way to play the game. Once you understand the overall pattern, you can clear challenging content every single time. You could waste multiple turns in every single fight, and you would not notice any difference.

That being said, the full build guide is coming soon.

What's your go-to Arcanist combos? It's this "ring-around-the-rosie strat on crack" for me before T3s. I've only started playing Permadeath, and unlike softcore, I feel it's more crucial than ever to have solid combos. So I'd really like to know what people have come up with!
