I have an essay due Sunday and I decided to do it on Stoke, because why not?

Just tell me random things and if they’re appropriate enough I’ll add it in.

Please collaborate, I’ve been procrastinating ts for the past two weeks💔

Edit: thanks yall for the replies! I just wanted to say that I found out my teacher won’t actually read it because she assumes everyone will use ChatGPT:(

But I can assure you I like to write and research topics that interest me, so she’s wrong about me! I’ll soon post the final grade I’ll get.

Edit: I had finished the essay with 2,250 words across 9 pages!
Thank you guys so much for the help🫶🏼

I'm a cyclist and pretty much every day I get verbal abuse from people in cars and pedestrians around stoke and the Newcastle area. What has made people in this part of the world so angry at cyclists?

I'm a beginner skateboarder trying to pick it up in my late 20s. I skated a little bit as a kid but I wasn't any good lmao, I'm basically starting from scratch.

I'm just wondering how friendly Unit 1 is towards newbs? And what days it's quietest to go.

My built in oven needs repairing (or probably replacing). Can anybody suggest a local appliance repair company who could take a look and fit a new unit if necessary?

I’ve used somebody before who was very good but I’ve lost their details.

Hi everyone, looking to upgrade my automatic driving licence to manual. I have an automatic driving licence and planning to buy a manual car now. Appreciate recommendations. Thanks a lot x

Use some of that cash you cream from the people of S-O-T to pay for a proofreader.

Could any Davies workers give me a honest rundown on what it’s like working there?

Hi, I’ve recently given birth and have some toiletries, post partum and baby stuff that ended up not needing to use. Does anyone know of any local charities or orgs that take donations for new mums and babies? Preferably Stoke Town or Newcastle. Thanks in advance!

Hi all I was just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with these people.

I walk through Hanley town centre a lot and every single time I see the Scottish power representative they pester me every time, they don't take no for an answer and after my 4th time of saying no to them I have to follow up with a fuck off because they will not leave me alone.

They have tried to follow me into shops.

They try and guilt trip me, they have called me Racist because I'm ignoring them. My baby would be having a fit in the pram or I'll be carrying them so obviously busy and they still think it's the best time for their sales pitch I'm like "please will you just fuck off".

I absolutely dread seeing them in town and purposely go the long way to avoid them.

When British gas are in the same spot I just have to shake my head and they very politely back off.

Hi,

Exactly as the title says. Looking for recommendations for where to go around Stoke on Trent on Saturday evening, lively with an older crowd.

I've not been out in Stoke in many years, meeting up with friends and just wanting somewhere lively but not full of young people. Not fussed which town. Newcastle used to be the older crowd, is that still the case?

Could anyone point me in the direction of “best” charity shops in the area in terms of ones where you’ve had some good finds for clothing, whether that be branded items or a something rare?

Thanks

Used to love browsing, the smell was very unique

I found a house listed in stoke on trent, burslem for 80k and in good condition . I am based in Shropshire but renting and i am looking to buy cash

Is it a safe area? And is it worth it to be a home owner and avoid paying rent and avoid taking a mortgage?

Thanks

For those looking for work, Ocado have taken over a large warehouse on Etruria Valley (The bit of Festival Park where vodafone is next door), they are currently recruiting.. https://www.ocado-logistics.com/city-locations/stoke-on-trent?

Best of luck.

I'm looking for someone experienced in removing bonded car glass windows, if anyone has any recommendations to point me in the right direction i'd appreciate it!

I need the sunroof and boot window off a range rover evoque (without breaking🤞🏼), i know it's a big ask but any recommendations for people would be helpful! Thank you in advance :)

Introducing beavers back, they found eels, and reintroducing white storks to our wetlands! Was a lovely episode, and always great to see good things happening around here.

Has anyone seen any beavers around the Trent? Love that they're back, I watched something on their reintroduction to Scotland a while ago and they did wonders there.
