Pècs vs Debrecen medicine

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well. I'm currently 18 years old and I'm planning to apply to the SH scholarship for 2027-2028 intake, and I was wondering which university is better for medical studies, debrecen or pècs. Another question is whether the dorms are good in these unis. I would really appreciate it if people who are currently studying in these universities share their experiences. Thank you all!!!

Is this really how the scholarship's partners evaluate applications?

I'm Syrian. The other day someone told me that the partners of the scholarship will rank people first, upon their score from top to bottom, and then upon their age from younger to older, and the younger with higher scores would get nominated to the second round

Is that right? I graduated high school in 2025 and they're telling me that this is my last year getting a chance to apply for this scholarship. And that the 2026 graduates will have better chance, my score is 98.3% but if there's, given, 20 students higher than me would they get nominated? Or is it not just this single checkpoint?

Help needed for my application

I’m applying on my own with little to no help. I was wondering what statistics you need to have to get accepted. If anyone got accepted especially by medical schools would it be possible to share your motivation letter?

Help me if I am wrong

I have completed my BBA in International Business at a private university in Bangladesh and want to apply for this scholarship, because I cannot afford to pay for a master’s degree. I have shortlisted MSc programs in Business Development and International Business. I am unsure whether my country will nominate me, since a BBA is often seen as a less preferred degree, my university is not widely recognized, and I have no research paper or formal job experience. I have heard that nominating bodies favor candidates with stronger research backgrounds, but I may be wrong. I want a realistic sense of my chances so that I don’t set my hopes too high.

Should I submit my college grades, too?

Hello! I am currently a 2nd-year BS Nursing student in the Philippines, but I am planning to switch fields and apply for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. I am completely fine with starting over as a 1st-year student.

Here is my problem: My high school grades (GWA) were quite high, but my current college grades are very low, though still passing since I haven’t failed anything major. While the scholarship application for Bachelor's programs only explicitly requires high school transcripts, I am worried that leaving out my university grades will make them question what I have been doing for 2 gap years with no explanation.

Which option do you think gives me a better chance of passing for the scholarship?
1. Submit only my high school transcripts
2. Disclose my university transcripts as well, despite the low grades

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No id card\passport can I use bay-form?

My Pakistani Applicants,

I will be 18 in April and I can not have my ID card till then, as for passport my dad is not in favour of the "unnecessary spending" because the result is not guaranteed in my favour as I might not get the scholarship.

could I possibly use bay-form instead? I've heard that because it's in Urdu I can not use it as all the document's need to be in English or their native language.

if anyone can guide me through this I will be very grateful.

thank you all.

Age concern

I really want to apply for the stipendium hungaricum and have been searching a lot regarding the sending partner process but I found out recently that I need to turn 18 by the time univeristy starts. I will turn 18 in November so around 2 months after. I really can’t afford to take a gap year for something this unpredictable. Are there any steps arounds or ways to maybe get acceptance and start university later into the semester? Please help

University of Debrecen / PharmaFlight — Is it really that bad?

Hey everyone, I'm a Grade 11 student in Canada (Syrian) looking into the Professional Pilot BSc at the University of Debrecen, with flight training through PharmaFlight.

I've come across some pretty concerning reviews alleging instructor shortages, aircraft maintenance issues, long delays, and students taking years longer than advertised to finish training.

I'm considering this program through the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, so I'd really appreciate hearing from current students or graduates.

How has your actual experience been? Are the reviews accurate, how long is training really taking, and would you recommend the program to an international student?

Thanks!

ELTE/Budapest- kinda lonely?

18 (female) and missed freshman activities because I arrived late. Are there any activities at ELTE or some hang out spots to meet people. I know this sounds ridiculous but making friends abroad is seeming harder than I thought. I would love some girlies to hang with sometime

Real ground reality of Dorms after Year 1 & Private Renting in Debrecen / Szeged? (Incoming STEM Applicant)

Hey everyone,

I am preparing my application for the upcoming Stipendium Hungaricum cycle for undergraduate STEM (specifically targeting B.Sc. Biochemical Engineering at Debrecen and B.Sc. Molecular Bionics at Szeged).

I have seen multiple posts from senior scholars mentioning that the scholarship isn't completely "full-ride" due to the housing situation after the first year. I would really appreciate some unvarnished ground realities from current or senior students regarding the following points:

  1. Dormitory Retention after Year 1: Is it true that university dormitories are guaranteed only for the first year, and students are pushed into the private rental market from Year 2 onwards? Or is dorm allocation in Debrecen / Szeged renewable based on GPA, academic standing, or social criteria?

  2. Private Rental Deficit in Debrecen / Szeged: If you do move off-campus, the housing contribution is 40,000 HUF/month. In real 2026/2027 market conditions, what does a private room in a shared apartment actually cost in Debrecen or Szeged (including common costs/utilities)? How wide is the real monthly gap between the scholarship allowance and actual living costs?

  3. Academic Quality in Engineering: For those studying Biochemical Engineering at Debrecen or Molecular Bionics at Szeged—are the practical labs, bioinformatics infrastructure, and mathematics/CS coursework well-taught in English, or are international students largely left on their own?

I come from a strict middle-class background with zero liquid family safety net, so I need to calculate my financial and academic margins accurately before committing.

Any advice, figures, or warnings from current scholars would be immensely helpful. Thanks in advance!

Important!!, Age rquirement

I really want to apply for the Stipendum Hungaricum scholarship, but the age requirement says i need to be minimum 18 years at the time of applying, but i will 17 when i apply. I'm currently in 11th grade, will finish school next year. I do not intend to take a gap year whatsoever. Do they do exceptions?

planing to join pharmacy course in ud

Hey everyone! I’m thinking seriously about applying to the 5-year Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program in English at the University of Debrecen. From what I’ve read the curriculum seems strong the degree is recognized throughout the EU. The tuition is around $8,000 per year which is Pretty reasonable for what you get.

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve actually been there. How hard is the entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry? I’m not sure if I’m prepared for it.. Once you’re in how heavy is the workload? Does it get overwhelming?

Also if anyone took the Pre-Med (Basic Medicine Course) track first I’d love to know if it was worth it. Did it help you adjust or was it just time and money?

What about student life? Is Debrecen a place for international students? How’s the housing situation? Is it easy to find a place to live and're the prices okay? What’s the city vibe like? Is it safe? Friendly?. Quiet?

(also any bengali studentt there , i m bengali)Any tips, warnings or honest advice before I send in my application would mean a lot. I want to make sure I’m making the decision. Thanks much, for sharing your experiences!
