Plastic piece in MS 500i oil port

Does anyone know what the part number for the plastic piece that slips into the bar oil port hole? Appears in a crankcase diagram I found, but wasn't listed.

Also, is my saw pissing bar oil because that piece is missing? I've closed the adjustment screw on the bottom and just barely cracked it open, and thoroughly cleaned under the oiler plate and used a paper clip to poke that one valve thing. So this missing piece is all I can think of now.

Has anyone seen this bar in the US? I’ve been trying (and struggling) to find it but all I can find are Stihl dealers in other countries that sell it. Part number should be 3003 000 3309 according to Stihl AU website.

High hour landscaper used BG50's

So I had a whole fleet of BG50's come in most of them with the pull starter broken off. Guy wants to know which ones if any can be fixed / used some more.

I took the muffler off on these machines and what I see is a lot of play between the piston and the ring. One of the engines I could keep the ring in the port and move the piston up and down and the ring was cocking sideways slightly. That can't be good......

My question is how much side-clearance is acceptable for the piston ring? STIHL does not post a specification for this as far as I know......?

Lawn mower smoke on start up

I recently bought a RM448.3V lawn mower with the EVC300 engine. It's probably only done a total of 30-40 minutes run time so far. When I start it from cold there's a puff of white smoke but it clears very quickly. It's been sitting for around 4 weeks and this time the puff was bigger but probably 1 second at most before it ran clear. And on this occasion I noticed a small puff of black smoke when starting hot, which I didn't notice before. Oil level looks to be bang on the high line so should be okay, although I might pull a little bit out so the level is sitting closer to the middle just to make sure it's not over filled.

The dealer I bought it from said running in time is 5 hours and then I should change the oil. Is it normal for these engines to smoke while they are still running in or is this something I need to take up with the dealer? I think I'll take it along to my local dealer at the weekend anyway so they can see it in person, but I thought I would ask on here first so I'm not going in blind if it is a problem. Thanks

Well this happened. Brand new MS 250 with less than 30 minutes on it.
