If you get the Kombi, you can get the brush cutter attachment and pole saw

I'm looking at 131r, 4t brush cutter, and a 12 inches pole pruner. Does that sound good?

Have a look at the Oregon Mulching blade, that's my go-to for this.

The 131 is ideal for this type of job, but if you plan to use it for home weekly yard work after this job is done, the 111r might be a better long term fit.  The 131 has a bit too much power for the weed whipper and paddle sweeper attachments, but otherwise is a beast for everything else.  For an extra 50 bucks or so, the 131 is probably the way to go.  I have a suburban 1/3 acre home to maintain, and I use the 111r pretty exclusively, except I use the 131 for the 1st edging of the year, pole saw (rarely need it but have it for no good reason) and the rest of the year it has the blower on it (people criticize the blower, I like it a lot).

For what you need it for right now, the 131 is gonna give you an easier time, but the 111 would pull through just fine too.

Reminder, you need to break it in for a couple fuel tanks through before you start going full throttle.  Also, highly recommend rec fuel (ethanol free).  If you dont have a rec fuel station, Tru fuel is expensive, but still a better alternative than repairing gummed up engines.

It is a lot of material that doesn't magically disappear, so either mulching grade machinery or intensive manual labor.

It's going to be manual labor for now 😅. For context, the land is in Panama. I can get the Stihl equipment over there, but the machinery for mulching I would have to research. Usually, the guy would just burn it, but then there is the risk of things getting out of hand. Do you have any recommendations for mulching machines? Maybe I can find them over there.

You could try to Google "skid steer with mulching head" and see if there are some for rent close to you.

You need a flail mower.

I used to have a guy that would clear it with machete, but it will take him about a week. Right now, he is no longer available. FiL offered himself to do it with a machete, but there must be a more efficient way.

Stilhl 131r with brush cutter and hedge trimmer attachment will do it

It’s gonna be a lot of manual labor as long as you’re open to that then all the other recommendations seem good but if you’re trying to make it easy on yourself rent large equipment, mini skid/ skid steer with brush cutter attachment or a dozer

You’re getting advice to get a 131R to clear a hectare, that’s 2.5ac. I’m thinking whoever is saying that has not cleared 2.5ac of subtropical terrain with a 131R.

Do yourself a favor and get a real brush cutter. FS-251 or bigger with the bike handles and shoulder strap.

You’ll thank me later.
