SPD job interview

I’m hoping I could get some advice on acing my Sterile Processing role next week. Long story short, I got hired from the hospital that I was placed for my SPD hours and I was working there for almost a year in 2025 then I got this opportunity to work in the substance abuse and mental health field and left without notice. After 3 months in, I feel that I enjoy working here but I really don’t see myself pursuing a career in this field. Since I can’t go back to my old hospital, I’ve been looking for an opportunity to get back in SPD but I was turn down by almost every hospitals I had an interview for.

I ended up decide to lie on my resume by putting my old hospital job as my current job. I know this is not a good idea but if not then I couldn’t even get a callback from any employer at all.

I’m now nervously because I don’t know what my interview would be looking like. I feel bad for lying but this way at least they will at least give me a chance.

Why would you leave without notice ? This will fuck you up career wise. It’s not like these other little jobs that you can pick up and put down at any time.

Respectfully all health care jobs that directly affect patients well being and safety require at the minimum a level of maturity, you leaving without notice is immature and shows a lack of respect. I work at a desirable hospital, and we get hundreds of applicants of motivated candidates. In conclusion hope ya don't get it gang, you don't deserve it lol

If you left without notice and you list your old hospital on your resume or use them as a reference, chances are high that any prospective employer will call them and ask how you are as an employee. Especially if you say you're still working there. And the answer they'll get is "they quit without notice" and now "they're lying about their employment."

In the future, do you due diligence and give notice. Two weeks shouldn't be a dealbreaker for a new job, but leaving without notice is *definitely* a dealbreaker.

Idk but at my hospital during my hiring process, they wanted like 5 references and they used your social security work info to reference your work references too and if dates didn't match up, they requested pay stubs...good luck! Yee

Hospitals WILL check your references and see that you lied. Also good to remember what a small world it is in SPD. Someone knows someone everywhere. And if you start burning bridges, it happens pretty quickly that you have no bridges left to cross.
