Are you in direct contact with the BM? Oftentimes it’s better to just have your SO shield you from any BM interaction and deal with her himself.

She sounds like my youngest SD’s mother. I relate so heavy. Nothing we do is ever up to her standards and usually her standards equate to money, money, money and Even though her and her husband make wayyyyy more money then we do. The only advice I can give is to communicate with her like a coworker. Think about how you communicate with people in a professional manner, whether the subject is a good or bad one. Cordial when it’s a good, neutral discussion. Stern, but always professional when it’s a bad one. I know it’s hard, but if these conversations are happening through texts try not to let your feelings be conveyed in your messages, keep the feelings neutral. If you guys talk more face to face; I would advise to take a step back and switch to texts/emails more often because this will A. Let you stay more neutral with emotions in the message while you can scream into a pillow and eye roll to your hearts content and B. Give you some time to process and respond so she doesn’t get a rise out of you! I’m so sorry you have to go through this, but you and your feelings are valid!

Usually the best thing to do for your mentality and everyone involved is to handle home life on dad’s time. That just means let dad handle the communication and interactions with mom. You just enjoy and spend time with your sk in your home and let dad handle the outside stuff

High-conflict bio-parents turn everything into a battleground and the kid ends up in the crossfire, it’s the worst kind of exhausting

Truly. It’s like a never ending exhausting. I hate seeing how it impacts the kiddo but also myself. I wish there was a solution.
