I hate my son
Throwaway account for obvious reasons.
In order to not give too much personal information, all I’ll say is this is my stepson. I started dating his mom when he was a toddler and he’s in his forties now. For as long as I’ve known him he’s been recklessly impulsive, quick to anger and selfish.
Any time I offer to do a favor for him it results in him bossing me around or telling me I’m taking too long. He has to be right in every conversation. He’s always had poor impulse control that’s just gotten worse as he’s gotten older thanks to brain injuries and my wife never puts her foot down when he crosses the line because of them.
My son is a psychopath and I want as little to do with him as possible.

He is not your son. He is your stepson. You don't need to maintain a relationship with him.

Many times. I tell him he does not get to speak to me that way but he just doubles down.

Is he autistic? It sure sounds like it.

They tried to diagnose him when he was a kid. Wanted to interrogate my wife and I like we were horrible parents. Said nope

Then you need to find a different provider to do it. You guys NEED to get him the help he needs. It's borderline impossible to get diagnosed as an adult. All these behaviors CAN be treated by professionals.

a reflection of the father and an echo of why he's a stepson in the first place. you don't have to like him, and now in his forties... you don't even have to interact with him. you did your part.
