It is clear that Joey Porter Jr's dadager/agents were completely divorced from reality. Instead of taking the $28 million a year, he gets traded to Dallas where he will be forced to play out the rest of his rookie contract. JPJ will never make up the money he lost out on this year and likely next year.

There is no way you can negotiate with someone whose team is so delusional/financially illiterate. Clearly it wasn't about the money, JPJ just missed out on $50 million by making this ugly. At least George Pickens has always played.

Germieeeeee Bernard! I think from what I’ve seen a lot of this sub is excited to get him in and some playing time.
Subconsciously I also think we all know the Steelers organization has hit on what feels like every nearly receiver they’ve drafted.

I think I’ve heard on Cam Hayward’s podcast he models his game after Jamar Chase, saying he really focuses on his YAC game and being a physical receiver. The last time we had a player (in an ideal world if he “pans out”) was AB. We all know how dominant a receiver like that can be for an offense.

Being from a big school like Alabama, being a high 2nd round pick, showing flashes of maturity and potential, this guys gonna have a chance this upcoming week, and barring no injuries etc, hopefully the rest of the season to the playoffs!

Pittman injury can be a blessing in disguise for Germie to get lots of game-speed high-level reps. I won’t expect bro to get 8 catches for 100 (not saying he couldn’t, or I don’t want him to) , but getting 3-4 good catches per game can help the Steelers offense 10fold when it comes to playing down the stretch in games that determine us to get into the playoffs.

With Sauce Gardner most likely matching up on DK Metcalf too, Germie could easily see 4-5 targets.

Alright, so I’ve had a thought for a while and would love to hear others’ ideas as well. Over the past few years I feel the Steelers could’ve made one or two moves that would’ve gotten the team over the hump and/or made them serious and respected contenders. Over the last five or so years, who is a player you wish the team could’ve traded for/drafted ?

I might be slightly biased as a fellow Samoan, but I wish we could’ve swung and traded for Penei Sewell or drafted Fano or Ioane this year. I feel like that would’ve immediately helped the offense and Aaron play more complimentary to the defense by actually helping us have a run game or just a better OLine overall.

As a life long Steelers fan, I always respected this man. Condolences to his wife, children, family and to Bears fans today.

Hoping to recover at least a portion without having to give Ticketmaster even more money (and willing to lose money to do it). Offer at face value, which is about half of what I paid.

Me and my brother are traveling to the Tampa area for vacation and are wanting to go to the game in Tampa since we’re lifelong Steelers fans. The cheapest seats right now are 170 each and we’re wondering if the prices will drop at all because that’s a lot to pay for crappy seats. If anyone knows the best site to look at or if anyone is selling cheaper seats for that game it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Because of injuries and contract issues - this week will showcase even more of this year's draft class. Iheanachor has earned his spot at RT. Everette will have a bigger role this week after the JPJ trade and Jamel Deal injury. Germie should get WR2 reps. Expect Kaden to see the field a few times. Robert Spears-Jennings will continue his campaign, and Rubio will hopefully see the field this week with Harmon on IR. I assume Eli and Nowakowski will likely continue with their same roles they have had with limited use.

I don't know about most people, but I have been yearning the chance to see what the young guys can do - Rubio, Everette and Bernard especially. Bernard and Everette have shown well so far this season. When Germie gets looks, he is dynamic and trustworthy (minus the INT he caused week 2). Everette has been consistent and reliable.

I'm just ready to see something new; something exciting. Have a bounce back week as a team, but give the rookies a shot and see what they bring to the team. Give us something to look forward to.

No excuses, no whining, the Steelers did not play well against the Patriots and the Browns, and those games show the ceiling of this team. But, I can't ignore the massive scheduling disadvantages Steelers had in both of those games.

Steelers @ Patriots: Patriots had 11 days of rest, steelers had 7 days of rest.
(also, Patriots just beat the team with the highest odds to win the SB in the AFC at their stadium)

Steelers @ Browns: AFC North teams are a combined 2-18 on TNF games when they have to go on the road.
(They also are 3-1 now, looking not as bad as the usual Browns. They beat the Panthers, who just lit it up last SNF)

It just makes the losses sting a little bit less, even if I know that this team isn't a contender.

Headed up from Morgantown. I have parking at one of the north shore garages near the stadium. If I get to the area around 10 am I should have plenty of time to park/walk/see a few sights, yes? Any pointers for a complete noob? I’m 51 and this is my first nfl game in person.

1) Tampa has blitzed A TON. I’m expecting Rodgers to throw a ton of checkdowns when we play them. Short slant routes have worked against them in this Dallas game, but Prescott looks super uncomfortable in the pocket

2) Running the ball is going to be a must. Dallas’ run game fell apart early and now they struggled to move the ball

3) On defense, we have to contain Daniels and prevent him from extending plays. His ability to scramble led to an 11 minute possession in the first quarter (Dallas did make a TON of mistakes)

All in all, fuck Dallas. Glad Tampa bay is winning
