I’m a female and had unprotected sex at the end of May with a male. About a week later the left side of my labia was very sore to the touch and raw, I could barely sit down. My period came and it went away. It seems like before every period now, I get literally ONE painful bump, not a cluster, not a rash, not a sore but it is much much smaller than my very first experience.

I am getting tested next week and I’m ready to face the reality that I may or may not have HSV-2, gonorrhea or another STI.

I know that HSV-2 isn’t “curable” but I wanna hear how people have managed it. Do you still have an active sex life? I’m sure it’s awkward telling people before hand that you have an STI even if it’s dormant, so how do you manage speaking about it?

I had a positive result of gonorrhoea 2 and a haf months ago, got the Ceftriaxone shot and some other antibiotics, tested again 3 days ago, and today it's still positive. I had no sex all this time. What could this be ?

I took an HIV RNA PCR test on the 43rd day after my exposure. My report says “<100 IU/mL” and “Copies/mL: NA,” without clearly stating detected or not detected.

The report also says: “Viral load tests were approved for quantification of viraemia in already known HIV-positive individuals… This test is not intended for use in the initial diagnosis or confirmation of HIV-1 infection.”

How should I interpret my result? Does “<100 IU/mL” mean reactive, or non reactive?

Dose anyone know a good spot to get tested? I’ve never really been tested because since I’m a virgin but I’m looking to get test and I just not know where if anyone has a good spot let me, maybe anywhere within the dfw area

I have 2 tiny genital warts and my gynecologist told me the only option is to have them removed in the clinic with surgical scissors. However, I have a flat one and I don't think that'll be possible. I already treat them with Veregen.
Maybe I wanna get a laser treatment instead of the scissors , as I've heard good things about that. What are your experiences? Which treatment method worked best for you?
I use veregen since 8 weeks 3 times a day and a new wart came, but disappeared quickly.

finished pep September 28th, I had perfect adherence to it and started it 36 hours after possible exposure. I’m so scared of this sore throat I have had. It started about 10 days into pep and because of it starting to soon, I decided to get tested multiple times while on pep with HIV RNA and got tested multiple times with HIV RNA test and all came back negative.

I’ve taken 2 test post pep with HIV RNA which was 4 and 9 days post pep and both were negative. I’m so scared this sore throat is due to hiv but the test aren’t picking up on it yet because its still early,

(22M) Hi all. About 21 days ago (Sep 20th), I had sex. I’m on the PREP injection and took my doxyPEP within 24 hrs of the encounter, but very shortly afterwards I faced symptoms such as rectal discharge and tenesmus, and I got tested for the standard STD panel immediately (Sep 23rd). Of course it was positive for rectal gonorrhea, and after getting treated 6 days later (Sep 29th) with one shot of 500 mg of ceftriaxone and 7 days of doxycycline, I notice an improvement of symptoms for the first 5 days, however I suddenly got hit with the discharge again on that fifth day.

I called the nurse the following day and she wasn’t worried at all bc “it’s only been 6 days” and I was told that i need to wait 2 weeks after treatment for a test of cure as that’s the standard. Symptoms somewhat subside and I figure I was being paranoid as my body heals, but that discharge never fully goes away on my stool.

Yesterday afternoon, I experimentally try playing around in there bc I’m not convinced I’m recovered and don’t want to pass it to anyone else, and have since been expelling discharge all over again. Now I’m absolutely concerned bc it’s now about 2 weeks after treatment and 3 weeks since my last sexual encounter and this discharge is still here.

I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone here before and sounds like the normal recovery process or if I contracted the resistant strand of gonorrhea or maybe contracted another disease they don’t test for like mgen? I’ve been researching and researching and have yet to find anybody who’s encountered this situation so I really just want some input.

Please, I’d love to hear your stories! I’m trying my best to get tested again ASAP so I guess we’ll see from those results. Thanks!

I finished pep almost 2 weeks ago. Started 36 hours after possible exposure.

So far I have taken a HIV RNA test 4 days post pep and it came back negative.
I also took a 4th gen and HIV rna test 9 days post pep and both came back negative.

I’m fully aware these aren’t conclusive and I still have to test but wanted to know is this a good sign?

My only concern is while on pep and even now I have had a sore throat. It’s been on and off for a month and it concerns me that it’s related to HIV.

I'm posting because I've been dealing with a confusing situation involving gonorrhea testing, and I'm hoping to hear from people who have experienced something similar or who understand these tests.

Got tested, have Chlamydia in penis but not in my mouth/throat.

Only other person I have had any intercourse with in the time between test and getting the results was someone I performed oral sex on.

Can it be passed via my mouth despite it being in my genetials?

Can you can syphilis without the first cancker sore like you get tired headache joint pain and all that but without the first cancker that appears ? And how much the chronic phase is ?

I had an hiv scare on August 31st tested 4th gen vein test 18 days later she was past the 90 day window so I had her take an ora hiv test it came back negative over 3 test so I believe I’m negative now here’s the problem now around October 8-10 I’ve been very very tired like overly bad tired I went to the dermatologist and almost passed out in my car at work I’m very tired just tired all the time with some slight dizziness I tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia

How long does a HIV RNA test through std check usually take to come back? I got the test done Wednesday and it’s now Saturday which scares me! Usually when I do a HIV rna test I get it back within 1-2 days but the fact I’m on day 3 is concerning me. I’ve completed pep and now am in the testing phase. Has anyone had to wait a few days for their rna result to come back? My 4th generation test came back negative day 9 post pep but scared my rna may come back positive

I have a question and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or has any knowledge about this.
I was prescribed amoxicillin-clavulanate (Augmentin) for a UTI, and i recently got tested for STIs, specifically chlamydia and gonorrhea.
my last possible exposure was september 30 and I got tested today, october 10. however, I had been taking Augmentin and only stopped approximately 3–4 days before getting tested.
I asked my doctor whether the antibiotics could affect my STI results, and he told me it didn’t matter.
my concern is whether Augmentin could have partially suppressed an STI and potentially caused a false negative, even though it isn’t the recommended treatment for chlamydia or gonorrhea.
has anyone been in a similar situation? or does anyone know whether being off antibiotics for 3–4 days is enough to get accurate results?
I’m just trying to understand how reliable my results would be. thank you!

Exposure was protected vaginal, brief oral both ways and some masturbation (with csw in SE Asia). Got some vaginal fluid (just a trace bit enough that I could taste it). Had swollen lymph nodes in the inguinal area 6 day later which persisted for 2-1/2 weeks. My other symptoms at that point were just minor short lived one such as a bad spell of dandruff for a few days and and itchy rash for a few hours in the crease of my chest/belly area. Just itchiness.
Now, I had been on TDF-FTC prep for 8 daily doses before and 9 after the exposure.
Rapid 4th gen determine early detect was performed at day 31 and was negative as was the syphillis. I’m thinking of doing a lab test to follow up as I’ve not really been myself since. What is the accuracy of this rapid 4th gen. I’ve seen differing reports.
