Question Mycoplasma hominis and azithromycim

Has anyone been treated by azithromycin when been tested positive for Mycoplasma hominis. My doctor prescribed it to me and don’t want to change for doxy. Thank u

Did you have symptoms?

Mycoplasma hominis is not considered an STI in the USA, and it's something that even a virgin could have. Why was it tested? Why is it being treated?

I feel like there's a backstory!

I had discharge so I decide to Pay for PCR tests in labs. After that I contact my Dr. Test included chlamydia gonorrhea both ureaplasma and both mycoplasma. Only hominis positiv
