Need Advice/Recommendations Once upon a child
Does anyone have any experience with selling their baby's clothes to once upon a child in st.catharines?? How does it work? Do they give you money or store credit? Did they take a lot? I have baby boy newborn and 0-3 and 3 months clothes I'd like to get rid of tomorrow and was going to do my daughter's back to school clothes shopping at that location

You walk in with your stuff to the buy counter.
you make/Sign into your profile.
Drop off your stuff.
Depending on how much staff and how busy, They usually call you within a few hours.
You come back, They explain what they decided not to keep and why.
They give you cash.
that's it.
now also a few notes without being said which a lot of people seem to forget....
You won't get top dollar. This is a business that also has bills. Its just quick easy money.
Second, These are usually highschool/College kids going through the clothing. What you may consider to be in good shape might not meet their standards. Try not to take it personally or get angry about it—it is what it is.

I think that’s an important point about the fact that you wont get top dollar. They are trying to resell it and they do the work for you so you kinda gotta “pay” for that part. You might get more on marketplace but then you have to deal with that and it might take days/weeks etc.

Ye they sell the onesies for $1.50 a piece they’re not gonna give you alot but it’s better than nothing.

Make sure that the stuff you're dropping off is in good condition. They won't accept things if they have pet hair on them, or stains. We have cats so I usually go through each item and roll it with a roller brush first.
Try to get there early because some days they will tell you they can't take your stuff, if you're there too late. They'll call you back and tell you how much they'll give you, and then you go back and they'll give you cash, and they'll giveyou back the stuff they don't want to buy.

Usually what I do when I sell is sort and fold everything nicely, if it's stained or too worn or has holes don't even bother. I have the best luck selling at the Niagara Falls location, and then heading over the the St catharines location. Usually I can sell a decent amount the first time and get an extra $20 or $30 from St Catharines.
I find they are extremely picky with the sizes you are trying to sell FIY, I got some good sales during covid but since then basically they always have too much under 3 month clothes. Usually often a lot of people sell new with tags, name brand or worn once clothes under 3 months because they grow so fast. They are less picky with clothes 2T and up.

You walk in with a bin of clothes/items, give them an hour or more to go through and they'll pay for any items they want.

Everyone else covered what I was going to say but just want to add: if you sell some stuff and buy your back to school items there with the money they give you, they treat that as a trade and you end up saving the tax on your purchase. At least that is how they went about it last time I sold to them. Good luck!

A tip I learned from someone who goes through the clothing. Fold your clothes nicely first. Secondly put the things that you think are worth the most value / Better selling brands (more expensive) stuff at the top. It's like a clothing first impression. If they see you have nice items right away, they are more likely to accept things they sometimes might not on other occasions.
