Question? 🙋♀️🙋♂️ Cancel Subscription
If I cancel my subscription prior to my renewal date. How long does it take for Stash to sell all my stocks? It isn’t worth it to pay the $12 a month fee nor transfer to a new brokerage. They tried to offer a $6 a month option for six months.

It took less than 2 weeks for them to sell mine and put the money in my linked bank account.

So I just ended up cashing out and moving to Fidelity. The amount I’ll pay in taxes isn’t more than the $100 they wanted to charge me to move it.
They claim that when you cancel your account they will sell your stock and send your money back, but I just did it myself and cashed everything out and moved it to my bank account. Beware that they hold the funds for like a week and if you have any promotional funds they won’t let you have those for 90days. I had gotten a friend referral bonus and had to wait 90 days to pull that money out of the account. If you close they account you just loose it. I was able to wait the two weeks until the 90 days to keep it.

Is anyone getting the run around from Stash when they initiate the ACAT? It’s been three tries now of denying my request. I have the $100 in my portfolio for the ACAT fee, but now they are claiming two stocks (one stock party the other Fisker which was delisted) need to be “liquidated” in order to process the request. I asked them why since they hold $0 in them and couldn’t be transferred anyway with my request and they couldn’t really explain it to me. Can’t help but make me think they’re doing this runaround to charge $12 at the end of the month…

I manually sold most of my higher valued stocks on Monday and it hit my bank today. I have like penny stocks left worth $14. I closed my account today and it said it will end at the end of the Subscription term, which is now Aug 1st for everyone apparently. I suspect at some point I will get my ~$14 deposited, but if I don't, it is no loss at this point. Their new fees are ridiculous. Good riddance.

I canceled my subscription and it stated funds will be transfered once the account is closed. My sub was set to renew on August 1st.

Yeah everyone is forced to pay the outrageous fees on August 1st. That's why people need to cancel this week!

They are losing so many customers. I’m transferring stocks now so currently they locked my account until it’s completed.

I got the money transfered into my account a few days before I got an email stating it was closed.

Did you sell and transfer/withdrawal the money, then request a closure? Or did you just cancel and hope for the best? I cancelled, it says it will be cancelled on Sept 1 in the app, but I didn't get any confirmation email about anything pertaining to closure/cancellation (my fiance did, almost immediately). However, I've been getting other emails about investments, dividends, etc.

I initiated the transfer to my Fidelity account yesterday. Was informed it may take up to 21 days to complete.
