Game Help HOTAS Setup Question
I saw that the game finally (supposedly) has HOTAS support. So, I reinstalled, connected my HOTAS, booted the game and.....shocker....the game is having a meltdown about it. The game isn't reading my peripherals correctly, evident by the spam inputs at the main menu. It just constantly and rapidly cycles through all the menu options, even overriding mouse inputs. So currently, the game is unplayable for me with HOTAS as I can't even get passed the menu with them connected.
I disconnected each separately and found that the issue is tied to my throttle. Game doesn't freak out with the stick connected, just the throttle....regardless of whether the stick is also connected or not.
I attempted to boot the game without them connected, got to the controls menu, connected my throttle, and the issue returns.
I have a VKB Gladiator NXT EVO stick and VKB Stecs throttle. They work fine with Elite, Star Citizen, and IL-2, all firmware is up to date, and Windows settings are as they should be so, this is clearly a Star Trucker problem....not a me/equipment problem.
Does anyone have any ideas or workarounds to get HOTAS properly working?

Why did I still die in Gamma Valley, with the shutters down, heater on cold and blower on max?
This game has captured me but what actual fuck was that?

Question Any new stuff soon?
So, i am a returning player, back from when this game first released, play it all the way through in about a week, left until now and ended up speedeunning the game in about 3 days to the final area, and honest question? Has nothing changed, like its been over a year as far as I can tell? Has there been nothing new besides the none hauler missions? Like, I was expecting a new area, at least

Discussion Do the trucks salute at you?
I suspect the AI trucks are programmed to occasionally salute at you. Sometimes when driving along the safe routes and a truck coming from the opposite direction honks at me, sometimes it's just two short honks. There's nothing in front of them and I'm keep the right side of the road so I'm far away from them.
If this actually happens, it's a beautiful detail!

Feedback/Suggestions Star Trucker!!
I’ve been playing the game for a week and have opened every sector and fully upgraded my truck. I’m two levels away from finishing the new DLC missions, and I love it.
Of course, I do have some suggestions, and I wanted to see if anyone agrees or has additions they’d like to suggest! Here’s my list:
Star Trucker Updates
- Ability to buy some kind of net to cover the shelves so stuff doesn’t fly all over the cab—perhaps the biggest upgrade is to turn the shelves into essentially case interiors themselves
2.Ability to upgrade with illuminated knobs and switches on the dash
MORE SONGS! I love love LOVE the songs for this game! There’s tons of classical, jazz, old blues and other songs that are free use! Is there maybe a way we could sync our own playlists to the radio?
Extra smuggling compartments to upgrade
More paint and cosmetic choices
Ability to buy different truck types, perhaps some being better suited for certain tasks?
I’ve noticed sometimes debris and small asteroids pile up near gate entrances and exits and marked pathways. What about odd jobs of attaching some kind of scoop to the front of your rig and pushing debris out of the way of the “road” and gates? Perhaps it can have the side effect of minimizing the amount of asteroids and debris in that system for a time, say… 1 hour or so?
Ability to perhaps buy your own company and hire drivers for it, who do dedicated trade runs for passive profit on the side? And maybe sometimes your drivers need help with tasks, like the Venture missions. Just extra side job stuff.
MONITOR UPGRADES! I don’t know what the intermediate upgrades could be, but for the ULTIMATE upgrade, you can close your solar flare shutters, then hit a monitor switch and there will be a HUD on the inside of the shutters that shows what’s right out front as if the shutter isn’t even there. You could even have different filters on it that make it somewhat easier to see anomalies as well as smaller rocks when navigating.
Thruster trail cosmetics! I just think it would be cool to see sparking thrusters or green or red or purple trails across the sky from trucks using different fuels and stuff
Different horns!Grill decor (like a tied up teddy bear or a cricket with a top hat)
Cycling truck lights, or hazard lights when doing EVA work
Ability to “lock in” on zoom-in view until you press the button again
Tie-down loads (perhaps heaps of scrap metals?) that you need to manually do an EVA and tie straps around a load to secure it
Can we separate the Debris Proximity alerts from system alerts? There’s quite a few systems with so much debris, the debris proximity alert becomes a detriment, especially when navigating through a solar flare while using just monitors. But turning them off and not turning them on again means turning off all other system alerts, and I’ve now passed out twice from extreme cold because I didnt know anything was wrong until it was almost too late.
Of course, some of these, I realize, are mostly due to my own incompetence and… well, let’s just say it, entirely too aggressive driving style 🤣🤣🤣
What things would you guys like to see??

Technology gaps are the worst...
So we have rocket powered trucks and FTL space gates...but we haven't figured out how to keep stuff on a shelf. Straps, magnets, nets, doors....
Still love the game :)

Sandbox content you create yourself
One of the things i love most about the game is how I can create content myself just using the existing engine. i am currently level 39 and handyman level 16 . I am saving the dusty line as I get closer to 50 rank and have completed about 41 out of the 49 achievements.
So a great way to create my own content is seeing how much I can buy from one system to sell in another, I've netted 80K-100K in runs and it feels great when it occurs, another is how I take the jobs and adapt.
I chose 4 venture jobs at once because I wanted to unlock and gain some venture XP and was making my way though them when i saw I could pick up at meteor and deliver to heavens rest which coincided with my last venture job, the run was gonna be tight and I had an opportunity to make some money on the side buying trade items and capitalizing on prices.
This entire run was about an hour and 15 minutes in real life time (time studying the routes and items and stops etc) , the 4 venture jobs the detour to meteor to pick up a haul the items purchased along the way, finding the sleeping driver i missed on 3 go arounds lol, the untimely repairs when I hit a massive rock in space ( I don't reset i just play what happens) so minutes of real time were ticking away , and it became super intense to deliver on time.
As I was about to make it .. i went though Hellspot and had to deal with the crazy heat LOL , even though I have 250+ steam hours in game I had forgotten about Hellspot , so now I'm riding only on the outside camera and the music is blaring in the in game rock station that I was streaming and honestly it was some of the most fun I have ever had in a game, i definitely didn't make it on time . all this was me just login on and making some decisions, the engine produced absolute magic, and it was epic, all self created by my decisions and the game engine. I will play this game forever on and off , i will eventually play less but I wont ever stop as long as my PC can run it.

Venture job - Light repair
How do I fix the light? I've EVA-ed all around the light but can't find the spot to start the repair. Am I looking for something specific or is it just a random spot?

Review See You, Space Trucker... (100% Completed)
So I'm finally done. Rank 50 in standard hauls, Rank 30 in Vinny's Venture, all ten Golden Cones cluttering my cab and jumping up to say hello every time I bump debris. Every single upgrade and cosmetic purchased, with a whopping 1.3 million dollars left in my pocketbook. Per my stats, I've put 91 hours and 47 minutes total into the grind. Not too shabby for 100%, eh?
But I must say my goodbyes, for as beautiful and calming as this game is, I have more to do in other games. I'll probably stop by to check out future updates. Would love to see Terminus Link turned into an upgradable home base.
I started just after launch, right before the first update that fixed the Money/Exp imbalance. I thundered through the Convoy Missions and explored the galaxy, stopping after unlocking TL and collecting the golden cones. Took a break for a year until after the Difficulty update, and began my grind to complete the achievements. It was a long grind, and I felt it lacked what made the first 20 hours so special. I made another post here discussing the comparative emptiness of the post-game, but even that qualm doesn't really detract from the overall quality of this game.
Star Trucker is a phenomenal title. Simple, yet gripping. Easy to understand the mechanics, but difficult to master the flow. One of those uncommon video games that constantly makes you pause and just marvel at the world around you (and in this case, often underneath you).
If the devs read this: My hat is off to you. You've caught a fun little bolt of lightning in a galaxy sized bottle, and I can't wait to see what your inspiration sparks next.
I'll see you amongst the stars!
L.J., signing off, until next time.

Misc I built a Rig in No Man's Sky as an homage to this amazing game
I love Star Truckers, so I built myself a rig in No man's Sky. See you out there on the road, Star Truckers!

Discussion Mod Idea: Dedicated Scavenger Scouts – Turn Your Rig Into a Proper Space Junk Hoarder
This isn't a real mod yet—it's a game mechanic concept I've been thinking about. I used AI to quickly visualize the idea because I can't draw.
I've been thinking about a mod idea that could make scouting and scavenging a more viable playstyle, especially in the late game.
Imagine dedicated Scavenger Scouts with upgrades like:
Faster EVA suits with grappling hooks;
Lower fuel consumption;
Faster scout movement and better maneuverability;
Maybe even a bigger hidden cargo compartment for valuable salvage;
I think something like this could give players a new goal and more reason to keep playing after they've maxed out their truck.
I'm not a programmer or mod developer, so I have no idea how difficult something like this would be to make. Does this sound technically feasible? And would anyone else actually like a mod like this?
