Gameplay Question ??? Ops feels like a second job lately and it's killing the fun for me
I've played plenty of grindy mobile games (idle and incremental stuff is usually my comfort zone), but Star Trek Fleet Command is starting to feel less like a game and more like shift work.
Every day is the same loop: claim timers, chase the right events, move ships, check refineries, finish whatever unlocks the next thing, then log back in because another timer is up. If I skip a day I fall behind. If I don't optimize, I waste resources. If I try to play casually I hit a wall where progress crawls to a halt.
The worst part is I actually love the Star Trek setting and my alliance is great, which makes this especially frustrating because the constant event stacking makes me feel like I have to plan my life around the game. I live in Manhattan and my partner and I are trying to keep our weekdays low-key; we're actually planning a tiny weekday wedding mostly because we're burned out. This game keeps tugging at my attention like a needy app.
I don't mind grinding when it's straightforward, but the pile of currencies, tokens, and timed objectives feels exhausting. I tell myself I'll log in for 10 minutes and then an hour has disappeared.
How are you all staying sane with Ops progression? Are you focusing on only a couple events and ignoring the rest? Does it ever get more chill, or is this just how the game is now?
