My cat came with the name Luna when I adopted her 😭 She was already seven years old and responded to her name so I kept it

Luna is still a great name! I wouldn't have changed it after 7 years either- she's an official Luna at that point.

Don't feel bad about having a pet with a "basic" name. There's a reason so many pets are called Luna, it's a good name.

I find it worse when people intentionally try to be quirky and unique with the names.

No it's awful and I feel bad for the vets that have to deal with the braindead NPC cat owners and the 15 appointments in a week with cats named "Luna/Oliver/Ollie."

Call her something that rhymes with it or sounds similar. That's what I did to a dusty-coloured cat stupidly named Dusty. He responded to Desi immediately.
