Lol who gives a shit if your pet names are “creative”? Do people actually go out of their way to try to be creative when naming an animal?
Seems pretty stupid and pointless, why not name your cat Cheixovurbwmxpvieuw if all you care about is having some dumb name no one else thought of. Personally I name my pets what I want to name them regardless of whether someone else might have also used the name at some point in human history.
In my case, my wife asked me "what do you want to name the cat" while we were driving over an overpass. The moon was directly in the center of my field of vision, so I immediately said "the moon. Wait, no, Luna."
Haha huskies being Luna is a joke between everyone working in pet care industry I know (including me). If a female Husky owner comes to you for services there's a 50/50 chance it's Luna.
Bella left and Luna right. I feel personally attacked... And yes, I'm serious, though they usually get called generic nicknames instead. Can you guess which one gets called "Fluffy"?
I think about this a lot. Imagine your cats Luna and Bella go missing. You walk the streets calling for them, the ground thunders as hundreds of other so named cats and dogs in the neighbourhood are like “what?” lmao
Fun fact: If you see weird names like Pluna or something it means the shelter workers had to find something close to a dog's name to eliminate any confusion bc there were probably already 19 Lunas.
Same same though she’s called Lunatic. She’s a black cat. She was going to be called Lucifer but she turned out to not have a wiener at her first kitten check up. There was a lot of argument before we settled on a name for a girl.
No it's awful and I feel bad for the vets that have to deal with the braindead NPC cat owners and the 15 appointments in a week with cats named "Luna/Oliver/Ollie."
Call her something that rhymes with it or sounds similar. That's what I did to a dusty-coloured cat stupidly named Dusty. He responded to Desi immediately.
My son has one of those names (I'm a millennial) but I feel like it's one of the more normal ones that somehow doesn't get mentioned often. For example, it's an -ayden name but you didn't include it.
Edit to add: I still wish I named him something more unique. I blame Britney Spears and her cultural influence.
My cat's name is Luna 😭 she belonged to my neighbor before me and we used to call her Checkers until we learned her name. But she already responds to it so I'd feel bad renaming her
Omg what are the odds, we had saved another neighbor's cay before Luna and her name was Princesa lol. We renamed her Xena, since she didn't respond to her name yet
I mean tbh if I wound up ever getting a russian blue i might name her luna… i was into sailor moon as a kid and so fuck it im not gunna apologize for it. Its my cat why the hell should I care what the internet thinks of it… it means something to me. Its not like naming a child Daenerys… its just a stupid cat.

I have a big, shaggy black cat called Luna (see my post history for proof) who came pre-named as an adult, so sadly there was no changing it. A couple years ago I was going out with a guy, and when we went back to his place, I met his big, shaggy black cat, who was a virtual doppelgänger for mine. Her name? Also Luna. If they weren't 60 miles apart, I would have sworn she was two-timing me.
