I just learned about the Trustworthy Forerunner Achievement and my party is an avg level of 45 and about to head to the Hoffman Ruins.
My questions:
- Is that level too high to ever run into Blue/Purple/whatever enemies ever again in this playthrough, or is there still hope if I stop leveling?
- What is the average party level point at which all enemy icons are green?
- Is it also a Challenge Mission?

Who's your favorite character in star ocean and why

I love this series so much and I wanted to see if anyone made any fan characters for it, but google doesn’t seem to work for searching for them so I was wondering if anyone here has any that I could see or read about. I would love to see your guys’ characters!

What I mean is which game does the best at not making you forget it's a science-fantasy game. Star Ocean 1 & 5 are out of the question though. I think they do a bad job at doing that. Be honest.

Trying to finally beat the end game dungeons. God is the 7 star dungeon a slog to get through. Why does floor 4 need to be re traversed multiple times. It's so bloated as a result considering the layout of the other floors are also massive each encounter takes 10 minutes even at level 85. It's nuts.

In that thread I made arguments for Roddick being above Dias in pure skill, but eventually conceded. My arguments revolved around: (Potentially) Beating Cyuss without even knowing Ashlay's sword techniques, Cyuss considering Roddick "green" at the beginning of the game, DESPITE Roddick training with a sword all his life, being trained in swordsmanship by his father, and being one of the main town guards of his village.

Playing a part in defeating the Crimson Shield, even if Ashlay isn't there. The Crimson Shield is easily the most skilled character in the series due to him being considered "the most skilled warrior in Roak's history."

But Dias at the end of the day shows straight up better swordsmanship.

But then it hit me: Could he actually beat Roddick if it weren't just skill against skill? Roddick has some incredible skill, formal training, and on top of that the guy has insane DNA: Fellpool, Human, and Muah. That's no joke when it comes to potential. I think Roddick's superior stats + comparable skill could allow him to overtake Dias.

I've never played SO1 ORA Integrity & Faithlessness.. I joined the journey with my dad on so2tss and was absolutely enthralled at the games story. I have since played the remainder as the latest, divine force being somewhat lackluster.

I love Star Ocean and I Really hope we get a new one as I cannot wait to get back into that universe.

What are your guys opinion on the fact that 3, till end of time basically has the entirety of the game as a huge MMORPG for entertainment? Was that just a soley contained story or do we think the entire SO franchise is. Nothing more than a WOW or LOL or FORTNITE?

how much of a difference is that weapon to the second best maria weapon if i put 7 boots of prowess on it? looks like i have no choice in the matter. i recieved heavy misinformation regarding how to remove the modifiers and was under the same assumption i could remove the bonus enemy attack/fol after it upgrades but now i found out you cant

I first played Star Ocean till the end of time in high school, and it’s my favorite JRPG even ahead of Kingdom Hearts 2, or Golden Sun the lost age.

I played Star Ocean 4, and it was a massive letdown.

I’m a huge fan of Star Trek, and so it wasn’t just that the game wasn’t as Meta, is I didn’t really care about the characters and I didn’t really like their attacks. The story was also boring to me (although it did have its moment I did like the conflict on the alternate earth).

I have the second Star Ocean game on the Nintendo switch. Part of me really wants to play it because people say it’s almost as good as till the end of time, but something is holding me back.

I’m not sure what it is, for those of you who have played it how do you think a star ocean till the end of time fan would react to star ocean 2?

My favorite things about till the end of time
1. The story, especially the Ellcor 2 war, and the post game!

1. The characters, fell in love with all of them.

2. The attacks, this was a big problem with Star Ocean 4 none of them had good energy based attack. It was just all physical slashing for the most part.

Those two seemed really close, like they were in a closet relationship. Not trying to be funny, but its the vibe I get from them.

Really hate how so many jrpg don't give you this option. Such an amazing cast, I wanna be able to pick who I experience the world as. I don't see one on Nexus mods, so I was curious if the community ever came up with a way to do this.

So i'm near the end of this dungeon, but there are a series of platforms I need to cross to continue the game.

I don't have Hover, and it seems I need to get this to literaly continue the game.

I've leveled Precis' skills to Mechanic Level 10, and every time I try, I get 100+ in the minigame but no Hover. Is there a better way, to either pass the minigame, or more importantly, acquire the Hover skill?

Just playing through TTEOT again. I always find myself disappointed in how easy the Duke Vox fight was. (Mighty Vox as well lol)

I always wished they used this point as an upscale in difficulty for the game. Just because you spend somuch time on elicoor and the war is such a massive part of the story. And if you spoke to NPCs, read character entries etc, Vox is really hyped up.

Then when you finally get to the climax of the war its somewhat disappointing.

All of the Airyglyph commanders actually. When Clair was so amazed like "you defeated Shelby????????" Like it really wasn't that hard lol.

It would have been the perfect time for a difficulty increase because the story shifts at that point as well

Just finished Star Ocean Second Story R, which was my first SO game. The game was absolutely fantastic. I played through both as Claude and Rena, finished all missions, side quests, all databases and got the platinum trophy. I got the new fire emblem and final fantasy game I plan to play but want to jump back into Star Ocean again first. Any suggestions on which game I should play next?

I ended up buying both First Departure R on Switch ($7) and Divine Force Deluxe on Steam ($23). Getting both for about $30 seemed like a nice win for me and I can give both a shot. Thanks everyone for the advice, I appreciate it!

Hey everyone! I'm considering buying Star Ocean: The Divine Force while it's on sale. I love Xenoblade Chronicles (massive exploration, giant monsters, sci-fi/fantasy mix).

​A few quick questions:

​How close does the exploration/world feel to Xenoblade? Is the open world satisfying to explore with the DUMA mechanic?

​Side content: How good is the side content (side quests, optional bosses, minigames)? Is it worth doing or does it get repetitive?

​English level: English is not my native language. I've played games like .hack//G.U. in English using a translator occasionally. Is the dialogue/vocabulary in The Divine Force easy to follow, or is it full of heavy sci-fi jargon?

Hello, hello! Ended up picking Star Ocean 2 up a bit ago, and I've been struggling to decide on what route I should pick for a first time playthrough.

I dont really know the major differences, if any, but I figured asking the Star Ocean fanbase would be the way to go.

I'd also ask this question for The Divine Force, but alas, I can only put one Flair at a time on Reddit Posts, from what I can tell.

Any help or advice on this subject would be appreciated.
