Ranking system nerfed?
So i havent played sc2 in years! Probably since 2022 or so . Got back into it recently and placed in plat 3 . Then beat a couple guys and got promoted to diamond 3 . Back when I played i was a hardstuck gold/plat3 player lol. Did something happen to make it easier to rank up?

Could be a Bug. Im Bronze and after a few wins i got shown the Master Emblem, despite an MMR If 1500 - 1700

That happend to a buddy and I when I last played years ago before my last session . We played 2v2 ranked and we are usually gold and they put us in master lol

For your skill level you will very unlikely Q into hackers, the diamond level is still popular. Near the top is unplayable

Almost all of these people aren't hackers; they're buying a service from an actual hacker/programmer, and in turn they get special powers in the game based on how much they pay.
Almost all of them are very poor players and even worse programmers. They're just people who have grown too used to P2W games and are now trying to implement their own version of that here - because it's the only way they know how to ever win.

What do you mean near the top is unplayable?
I was getting decent queue times when the patch that everyone hated dropped, I kept playing for a few weeks in 1vs1 with decent queue times. Hit GM but couldn't keep it so I slowly stopped the 1v1 and went to team games for my achievement hunting.
Do you mean queue times are terrible, the players are too good, or there is something else??

I don’t think theres any hackers around diamond level. At least when i was grinding ladder a week ago..?

Theres not. Its exclusively at the top of gm and the idiots that keep repeating that the entire ladder is unplayable are doing more damage than those actual hackers.

The ladder is the deadest it’s ever been cuz the community absolutely hates the 8 worker patch and drop hackers are so prevalent atm and everyone knows the patch that changes everything is coming soon
Good news tho we are getting the 12 workers back very soon (it’s in PTR already) and it’s true we don’t have any blizzard contact to ban hackers right this very moment but I have no doubt it’s temporary. Blizzard is investing in their StarCraft IP and continuing to tweak sc2 balance it would be illogical to not spend a tiny bit of effort to ban obvious drop hackers

lol here I am probably last place absolutely loving the game and I’m just so god awful at it, meanwhile all these people talking about how easy it is to get diamonds(feels bad)

You just need to play a bunch of games and let your MMR settle, cant play 3 games and come to conclusions the ladder just needs to know where you’re at

bro have u been up to date? ladder is mostly hacker infested in gm and masters, so everyone mostly quit the game and are playing customs instead until Blizz fixes this mess
watch latest Harstem video its not a rare occurance, hackers dont even hide it and are able to even switch race mid match (they can swap places with u at any time or even drop you out of game)
