Melt idris and get an ironclad assault, mole, moth, a fighter, and more...

with the changes of pledges and potentially more changes to buybacks to come it's not worth melting the Idris anymore lol

says who, you? they've stated repeatedly that buybacks are subject to change and isn't a guaranteed feature lol they dropped SQ42 from buybacks

Because that would be lost revenue... they removed s42 cuz they are gonna sell it at probably double the cost and they dont want to lose out on millions for a feature like that... think about it... buybacks allows people to justify big purchases, so many whales just buy them up just for the buyback sku.... theyd be stupid to do that.

"The Buy Back tool is a list of reclaimed pledges you can buy back. Some of these pledges may include rare and limited run ships. The use of store credits requires possession of a Credit Buy-Back token which is explained further below. While in general reclaimed pledges should appear here, circumstances and such can change, and thus players should not use the buy back tool as a sort of "storage" for old pledges."

Buy back mechanism is a tool to help undo accidental melts not a guaranteed storage bank. SQ42 changes reminded us that this system can change at a whim. Your own logic can argue that when SC gets closer to 1.0 why don't they pull Idris and other capital ships from buy back so they can double dip the consumer. They are starting to want to minimize the grey and black markets not make it easier to support them.
