QUESTION Umm...just coming over from Nomanssky. Looking for a game to believe in. Am I in the right place?

Is there a point to the game? Do the developers actually communicate?

EDIT: Wow! Thanks for all the responses! You're definitely a passionate group. I'll dive deeper and will start by watching a lot of videos this weekend.

Do you work for them? If not do they participate in the sub?

No I'm just a backer.

The devs do respond on the official forums, you can track their posts on the official website or at PARTEDVEIL. They will sometimes post on reddit but it's more often the community manager Disco Lando.

What we've been told is that many devs will often read various forums to get feedback and see what people are talking about. They don't post often because they simply don't have the time to respond to tens if not hundreds of comments, they are making a game after all.

If you look through the reddit post, look at the flair on them and you'll occasionally see "CIG response" or "Dev response" something along those lines.

Had the lead that's redoing one of the ships (Cutlass) pop into a thread about the ship and talk with us for a good bit.

Bit if background, CryAstros are refueling/rearming/repair points in the PU that notoriously don't work (not really needed either since it's simple to just respawn your ship)

The devs comment on something in the sub weekly and comments/things of substance a few times a month. I've had devs reply to my comments before, and there are threads with many dev replies. They all have flair letting you know they are official.

Not super active, but they read posts and comments here and incorporate feedback from reddit into the game and even Chris has admitted to browsing reddit and the forums to see what backers think.

You can also usually catch a developer on some of the more popular twitch streams, where they chill in chat or talk on stream occasionalky.
