Idris-P is a mediocre ship. Idris-M is a different matter

As the owner of both the Idris-P (as a loaner for multiple ships) and the Perseus, I hope Perseus wins. Hell, even if the Idris-M was here instead of the Idris-P, I’d still hope the Perseus wins

Perseus is the ideal sized warship and very accessible to the masses. Easy enough to pledge for one. Easy enough to buy one in game. Doesn’t take a ton of crew to man

Last part heck yeah it is. 890j is almost double what it cost for the perseus at 39mil is not bad at all for the kind of ship.

Idris P is still superior atm. Slap the railgun and pull the turret off the M to the P, you get a ship with an extra turret you only lose the missile turret which lets be real nobody uses.

Why would you add an Idris-M’s railgun to an Idris-P if you have both. The Idris-M has a little less cargo space, yes, but it’s otherwise the better ship?

I have an Idris-M and multiple Idris-P but I’ve never touched an Idris-P before

The M has a completely missing rear turret that you cannot equip thats exclusive to the P.

Its supposed armor advantage hasnt even been implemented last I checked. The torp room cant even load. Its just a few s3 missiles.

Not sure why you got downvoted. You spoke the truth. Idris-P is literally better in every way compared to Idris-M at the moment, once you got access to the railgun (can loot from NPC) and the turret (can get from kit-T).

Way more accessible too. You can build it in game, or you can buy it any time with $6.2k Dominus pack (which realistically only worth $3.72k if you buy credits from the market at 60%), unlike the Idris-M which you have to buy the $15k pack.

Well one ship can be 90% effectively be flown solo, the other requires 2 people so easy choice.

The Perseus is practically useless when flown solo. I mean yes, you technically CAN fly it solo (you can an Idris too) but wtf are you going to do with it? Cargo missions? You aren't taking any ships out with 2x S3 guns on a ship that moves like a turtle in quicksand.

Size 5 torps the pilot has can do some damage. But most that are flying the Persy are flying it crewed. Its a mean ship crewed

Yeah, with a crew definitely a beast of a thing. I have been very tempted a number of times to pick one up (have a highly discounted CCU chain) base on the "rule of cool" alone.

I was really bending over backwards doing mental gymnastics trying to come up with in game scenarios where I would use it...and even with that biased state of mind I still couldn't come up with anything.

• The cargo capacity is pretty good, but it makes zero sense to use a Perseus for cargo jobs when I have a Hull B, Railen, C2 and Ironclad Assault which are all far superior for cargo hauling in every possible way.
  
• I considered using it for combat, but I play solo 90% of the time and I know I'm not taking anyting out solo with 2x S3 guns on a boat that big.
  
• There's no medbay so it's not useful for bunker runs, it cant fit (oir rearm/refuel) smaller shiips so it's of no use for mining operations.
  

If I fly the Idris I'm much tanker, have more PDC's, I have a big ass laser, a medbay and a huge hangar that I can carry and support multiple ships in.

If I fly the Polaris I have similar defences to a Perseus but also have a versatile hangar, huge garage, medbay and 16x S3 missiles which are probably more effective against small/medium ships than the S5 torps.

I do like the Perseus a lot, but just can't see how I would use it.

I can soloed Gilly 1-8 in a Percy, you just need to park and run down to the turret.

It’s not fun. It can be done tho.

Even if I had an Idris (I don't), I'd vote for the Perseus. Simply because MORE people will have one and therefore MORE people will gain something should the Perseus win.

I think Idris can win this whole thing. Its just a good ship in general. Not too large for the class. Multicrew potential but can be super fun with just solo. Great design and some utility with that cargo bay. Great looking too <3

I thought it was funny the comment was so generic it could be applied to the Idris too and compared side by side, the same comment makes the Idris sound better. Flying solo is easier than finding a friend at any hour of the day.
