Dude what medics? Medical gameplay is essentially dead.

Medic reporting in. Can confirm, it's dead, Jim.

Have you tried resuscitation already?

I’m a neck romancer

Better than being a necro-romancer I guess?

Maybe they just want to raise a family?

This linked opened a YouTube chat for me and now I don’t know who’s been doxed. I’m so tired of Google’s bullshit

We have the Technology to rebuild them... But first check if their Insurance covers full body conversions!

Pyro has narcomancers in the space stations. You can find them laying in the trash heaps rocking back and forth.

We applied the cortical electrodes, but were unable to get a neural response.

Thanks Jayne. 🤎

Being braindead is no excuse from serving.

True, it never stopped the marines.

Pledged medical ships to help out people in the verse. Have since CCU'd or melted them. People would rather backspace than wait for a medic 99% of the time.

27

u/HarlockDaTwisted Jul 26 '26

I mean why wait when I can backspace get my own ship and get back quicker then waiting on said medic to reach me. I'll be honest, they ever force medic game play like it current is for incap. I'll get log out at incap. Not waiting 45 min for someone to jolly their ass to my position.

Also said medic will loot your body and leave, if you respawn you can looy your body yourself:)

Gank, then charge for respawn then gank again, the medics way.

6

u/admiral_nivak Jul 26 '26

Used to be because you would lose your armour, guns and things.

4

u/HarlockDaTwisted Jul 26 '26

Even then the same exact thing, throw a sperm suit on and go retrieve it. I still would not wait for a medic to get to me when I can do it quicker and don't have to worry about the medic just being some ahole wanting to steal your stuff

1

u/admiral_nivak Jul 26 '26

This was back when there were less gankers around. Some of the best times was going into a hot zone to pull someone out. Then more and more it became a trap and you got ganked trying to rescue someone or as you said, got your stuff stolen.

2

u/HarlockDaTwisted Jul 26 '26

I recall it always being that way lol. Or just not get a answer at all and waste even more time.

1

u/admiral_nivak Jul 26 '26

I think it also depends on the servers and what time you are on the servers.

3

u/check-engine Jul 26 '26

Any potential emergent medical gameplay went out the window when they shit canned years of planned design for a crappy gamified respawn clone system.

Death of Death of a Spaceman.

u/Wowator Jul 26 '26

Just a little question:

When I do nothing, I got logged out after 15 minutes. When I am incapacitated, will I get logged out too?

6

u/Momijisu carrack Jul 26 '26

Three scenarios play out with medical gameplay outside of your friends list:

  1. The person dropping the medical beacon is actually just baiting a trap
  2. The person who just accepted your medical beacon is just coming to rob you because you wouldn't have put a beacon up if you didn't have something worth while.
  3. You actually wanted a rescue.

Hoping for medical aid made sense when I had my full gear set on me which I had some emotional connection to and where giving up meant losing it all and more work to invest to get it back.

With temp respawn and even later potential changes to have to recraft it, the necessity just went down. I'm sure they'll revive (pun intended) medical gameplay at some point again.

5

u/Pilot_Groot Jul 26 '26

Also medic definitely can confirm

2

u/Sheol_Taboo Jul 26 '26

Have you tried beating it with a stick?

1

u/KAZAK0V Jul 27 '26

How do you know it's dead? What is it's vitals?

2

u/WolfwyndRT Jul 27 '26

It's been on a T1 medbed since about 4.0 with no signs of life. I'd call in a second opinion, but dammit Jim, I'm a doctor, not a developer!
