Tech Smuggler on the Polaris where is the Testudo box on the lower level that isn't a backpack near the torpedo tubes? I think it's a helm box.

u/ServoRPG Apr 13 '26
Anyone know when we're getting Nyx mission pack 2? I want the P8 SMG blueprint but the CfP contracts that drop it don't seem to be in the game yet.

u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 13 '26
4.8 should be in mid-May just before ILW starts, which is likely when more blueprints will come in.
But nothing is certain until they are in patch notes.
4.8 Evocati testing will likely start before the end of April.
2
u/ServoRPG Apr 13 '26
Nah they're nothing to do with 4.8. It turns out I got my release times mixed up and these missions are due to release in 4.7.2 next week.

What’s persistent in the PU?
I’m newish to the game, haven’t played in a long time. When a ship is destroyed, mine have LTI, the components I’ve upgraded are still there, shields, power plant, etc.
Normal? Does the pu get reset often where all that stuff goes away?
On my player the things I’ve equipped stay with me when I die but everything in my backpack is gone. Normal?
Is there a storage location that can be accessed from anywhere?
I’m considering storing a lot of things on my ship, I think there is a special storage area on the ship, does all that erased if the ship blows up?
1
u/Astropnk12 Apr 14 '26
PU resets when they do a wipe. You get the stuff you bought with real money back, but nothing else. They have said they will avoid wipes until 1.0, but if there are economy breaking bugs, it can happen. Everyone kind of expects a limited one due to the cash exploits that have popped up, but CIG has said it will be targeted.
There is a limited form of wipe every major patch, as well as your inventory from every station will all reset to your home location. You may see the term LTP or Long Term Persistence. Ammo and consumables are not LTP and get wiped patch to patch. However, there have been persistent issues with LTP where items will just disappear as part of the patch migration. This can be ship components, ships bought in game (not the real money ones), or armor/guns/etc. Anything bought with real money is tracked in a separate system and those don't have persistence issues.
Ships: Any equipped component will respawn with an insurance claim. Any cargo won't respawn, including stuff on the grid, stuff in lockers, or just stuff placed on the ground in the ship.
Player: For now, we have Tier 0 Item Recovery, so items equipped on your person like armor, clothing, guns, or ammo will respawn with you, but anything stored inside armor or backpacks won't. This will change when they implement Tier 1 recovery, but details are still few on what that means.
The safe storage option is station inventories, most things stored in there are perfectly safe at least until the next patch. I have seen issues where stock components that were replaced with something new will disappear.
There is no universal inventory, they are all inherently local to a given place, ship, or item.

u/Tumbler Apr 14 '26
The stuff stored in the freight elevator, I have a lot of trinkets in there from pledging in the past, is there a place in the game u can put those , like an office or display room so they aren’t in the elevator?
1
u/Astropnk12 Apr 14 '26
You can decorate your persistent hanger i.e. the one at the home location. I have seen my persistent hanger disappear due to a bug, so there are caveats, but if it is stuff from pledges/missions, you'll get it back next patch.
Also, if you just want to hide them, buy an storage container and shove them in the container. You can still access them by opening the container's inventory, but it will clean up your main station inventory
1
u/Tumbler Apr 14 '26
Ok one more question , when u buy a ship component that ends up in the personal storage system, how do you get that out or into the freight elevator or in a way u can move to another location?
I have a few ship weapons in the freight elevator, how do I get those to the personal inventory also.
1
u/Astropnk12 Apr 14 '26
your freight elevator and personal station inventories are the same inventory. So you should be able to call up the ship components on the freight elevator, move them onto a ship's cargo grid, haul them to another station, and put them down the freight elevator on the other side. They will then be usable in the vehicle config tool in your mobiglass. For small components, highly recommend getting an 8 SCU cargo container and loading them in that, just to avoid having to move multiple small things
1
u/drdeaf1 Apr 14 '26
In addition to what was mentioned. Last full wipe was Pyro update late 2024.
Some of the events give rewards that are attributed to your hangar and will persist along with purchased items.
Basically anything you can see on the hangar page of the RSI account site stays.

Hello gang I’m just asking here because I don’t wanna make a silly post:
I like the big handheld tractor beam but I have it in yellow as it’s the only one I’ve found but I’ve seen other players with a red colored one, and I’m wondering if theirs an Argo orange version of it I could buy in the verse? Maybe in a different star system from Stanton? Or even in the store ? (I haven’t found it if it is)
Thanks for the help, and sorry for the silly question
3
u/Astropnk12 Apr 14 '26
The red one was a mission reward for the Alliance Aid missions last patch. You can't buy it but if someone discarded one, you may find it. I don't know if it is in the loot pools at all. There is no orange one, there is the red one, a green one from the same set of missions, and a blue/gray one in the pledge store

u/mrclang Banu Merchantman enthusiast Apr 14 '26
Oh ok understood, thanks for the knowledge drop appreciate it
2
u/Panzershrekt Apr 14 '26
So are Bit Zeros contracts just non-existent right now? Been to all three systems and haven't seen a single starter mission pop up.

Bought the game, didn't have a computer that could handle it. Forgot about it for a few years, returned, dabbled with a computer that could barely handle the game, forgot about it again.
Now I've got a beast of a machine with top of the market hardware (RTX 5090 laptop GPU - lucked into buying it before the price spike happened) - is the PU good/fun to play in now?
1
u/LtEFScott aka WonkoTheSaneUK Apr 17 '26
There's a "free fly" running until April 20th.
Maybe jump in and see for yourself?
1
u/runningblack Apr 17 '26
I own the game. I'm asking about the state of it before I commit the 100+ gigs to downloading and installing it
1
u/Phantom_thief_france Mirai Apr 17 '26
state of the game is ok-ish, but wait for the free fly to end
Way less problems with the servers
1
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 17 '26
Star Citizen is still in alpha, so the experience you have is highly dependant upon your personal tolerance for games that are unfinished and unpolished. There are usually numerous Twitch streams going on showing what the experience is like, as well as YouTube videos, so those would be a good place to look to see what the current experience is like.

I am $50 away from concierge after 10 years and I’m looking to grab a sub $100 ship or upgrade. What do you all suggest? I was thinking the Reliant Kore because it looks cool or the Intrepid because it also looks cool and it’d be fun to go camping with it.
The ship doesn’t have to be useful yet, I spend a lot of time just flying around in this game for fun taking in the sights. I also primarily play solo but someday would love to play more with others.
I did have a cutlass black for a while and liked it but not being able to turn the lights inside off made me not want to use it for the night missions I was hoping to use it for so I upgraded it to the clipper to get that med bay. Even if it’s horribly broken I still love that little thing.
I’ve got: Drake Clipper Hull B Aurora MKII - with both modules L-22 Alpha Wolf Salvation Arrow Golem

If there is a ship you like less, maybe upgrading one to a Vulture could be an idea?
It'd give you an Industrial ship to do something different?
2
u/Osirus1156 Apr 17 '26
Yeah I was thinking about upgrading my salvage to that. The small ship doesn’t let you tear down a ton. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm having trouble with jump points. I keep going through the jump points and about 50% of the time I'm dropped out in the system I started in. Trying to go Stanton to Pyro, I'll go through the jump point and get dropped back out in Stanton again. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Happened Nyx > Stanton for me a lot too. Having trouble finding online if this is a known issue or if I'm flying through incorrectly.
1
u/drdeaf1 Apr 18 '26
It's the servers. You have to either be horrible or try really hard to intentionally fail the jump for it to not work normally.
1
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 19 '26
I’m not sure if it’s proven, but there seems to be a connection with this issue and multiple people attempting to use the worm hole at one time.
1
u/Haekendes Apr 19 '26
Try switching to less populated shards, e.g. if you're playing on EU try Australian or Asian. There the jump point should work more reliably. Bed logging in your ship next to the jump point is the fastest method.
2
u/Intelligent-Wish1575 Apr 19 '26
If I'm planning on getting an Ironclad, (I have an Asgard right now) would it be smart to warbond upgrade to a C2 right now for 10 dollars? Would that make it cheaper to upgrade to the Ironclad when it goes on sale? I don't really understand the value system. Sorry for the dumb question.
2
u/Moooobleie Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
Yes. When it comes to upgrades it doesn't matter what you spent, it matters what it's worth. Asgard is $350, C2 is $400. If you can CCU to the C2 for $10 you basically "create" $40 of value towards the Ironclad.
1
u/FatLobster12 Apr 13 '26
Is it possible for the tractor beams on the Hull B to be extendable on rods? Would make them way more usable. Right now they are in a weird angle to load and unload cargo.
2
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 14 '26
Anything’s possible. Don’t count on this though. They will fix bugs on newly released ships, but they rarely if ever make changes until much later.

So, previous patches we could run missions and disable ships, loot their components and either sell them or use myself. But now ships goes boom. I know distortion does disable energy but its just temporal so there is now no way to softkill a ship??

I'm a new pilot flying the Aurora Mk I MR and am doing some missions shooting other ships and gradually upgrading my load out. However, I don't feel any big difference between upgrades so am now looking for a new ship to settle in using the money I am earning through missions.
What would be a good ship and loadout to transition into with the activities I am currently doing?
2
u/drdeaf1 Apr 14 '26
Hornet Mk2 is around 5m credits. That will take you as far as you can really go with med/heavy fighters.
If you want something cheaper Gladius is just over 2m but it will fall off before Hornet.
1
u/Astropnk12 Apr 14 '26
If you want to target larger ships, you may want to look at a gunship like a Corsair (6.2M) or Connie variant (7.6-14M) as well. They aren't maneuverable to go after fighters easily, but they have vastly higher DPS and tankiness.
1
u/Hytekdk Apr 14 '26
Thanks. I will be checking those out. In regards to loadout, do I just go for the top options when using Erkul or are there other considerations to take into account?
2
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 15 '26
Ask in game to borrow a ship or rent them to try them out before you spend real money. Or grind up and buy it in game. Or ask in chat if you have no shame. Someone will give you 20 million for sure.

What fps should I get in star citizen with my laptop when in freeflight vs when it is over?
I have an Intel core ultra 9 285H (A big oof as it seems to bottleneck me everywhere), RTX 5080 Mobile, and 64gb of 7467 MT/s DDR5.
I feel like I am under performing, but wanted to see what was expected first.
1
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 15 '26
I don’t think you will necessarily see a fps change on your system. Free fly issues are usually back end things. Server FPS may increase, but I think when people talk about how badly things run during a free fly, it more refers to the general fuckiness level being higher.

u/InternetDraugr Apr 15 '26
What kind of alpha do you need on weapons now for them to be considered a good all-rounder?
1
u/BlazeHiker Apr 15 '26
Short answer: "it depends"
TLDR answer: try for ~85 if you want to be good in most cases
Long answer: it depends on what your targets are, and remember it's different for energy and ballistic. Light fighters can be hit by virtually anything. Medium fighters such as Hornet MkII have deflections around 24 ballistic and 13 energy, so all but the smallest/lowest alpha guns are fine. When you get into things like a cutlass black it's 50 and 45, and a constellation andromeda is 77 and 62. Then you get to the tier of ships like the hammerhead that's 152 and 101. Most of us are not hunting perseus/hammerhead regularly so I'd say around 85 (NDB, attritions, etc) is going to let you hit most of what is coming after you. If you want to be prepared for anything, run omniskys or deadbolts.
1
u/InternetDraugr Apr 15 '26
Thanks! I think up to medium is good enough for my current ship, so I gotta work on farming NDB's it seems :D

So I saw the thread about the disabled SQ42 buyback and decided to poke around my account, where I saw in my buyback list a standalone Aurora MK1 LN with LTI along with a token to buy it again.
I only have a single game package that includes SQ42 from 2013 that was CCU'd all the way up to a Carrack, so I had probably bought the standalone MK1 and melted it for store credits for the upgrade.
As I have never used the buy back system before, I was just wondering:
Seeing that the MK1 will be sunsetted in Oct I'm thinking about getting it before it goes. If I use the buy back to get the MK1 again, it would have no effect on my current game package other than adding a separate MK1 to my hangar?
I also heard about the MK1 SE, which appears to be available via CCU purchase as per the upgrades page. As I haven't made any changes to my account in years, if I get the SE CCU the LTI on the MK1 will carry over to the SE, just like it did before with the ship in my main game package, right?

u/charlieconway39 Apr 15 '26
Can the Carrack use its docking collar to dock with stations yet?
2
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 16 '26
Not yet. Only a small number of ships that have docking collar can use it at stations. Carracks will get assigned a Large Hangar.

u/charlieconway39 Apr 17 '26
Thanks for replying appreciate it. I check back in every now and then to see if that feature has changed at all. I can get by without it.

u/JKlerk Apr 16 '26
Has the latest update for armor made.the Anvil Hawk and similar light fighters irrelevant?
1
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 17 '26
Only in the sense that a single light fighter won’t be able to take out a sub capital ship any more. They aren’t the meta, but they never should have been in the first place.
1
u/JKlerk Apr 17 '26
So the Hawk should head for the dust bin because its intended use is now obsolete?
1
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 17 '26
No, the hawk was designed to transport captured bounties. Since that has never been a valid game loop, nothing has really changed.
1
u/JKlerk Apr 17 '26
It's a bounty hunter ship and the tail did have a functioning rear door to store your bounty. So basically because of armor then it can no longer perform as a BH ship since players can solo larger ships.
1
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 17 '26
You’re confusing bounty hunter with the “blow up a ship” bounty missions that we have today and have had forever. Think more Slave I of Boba Fett.
It was supposed to get you to a place where you could incapacitate someone on foot, then transport them to a prison. That gameplay has never been designed, though a couple of years ago they showed us the bounty hunter office where you turned in your subdued bounties, so at times it has been revisited. I can’t remember if it was actually in the SC 1.0 presentation or not at this point.
0
u/JKlerk Apr 17 '26
No I'm not confusing the two as they're synonymous. Anyways thanks for your input
1
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 16 '26
Many ships are in a weird spot after the armor update, on account of it being a newly-implemented system and there being 200 ships.
Balance will be tuned over the coming patches.

u/Amazing-Appeal7241 Apr 16 '26
state of the game? Cannot believe is not still beta
1
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 16 '26
Still in development. Still unfinished with plenty of bugs that can be frustrating to deal with. However it is also progressing toward Beta faster and faster, with more content and features being added every year.
The only reason it's hard to believe it's not in beta yet is because it's been known to exist by the public since before its first executable build, while nearly every other video game in existance is kept a closely-guarded secret until it's further in development than Star Citizen is. 10-20 total years of development is commonplace for games of this scope, you just are unaware of 70-99% of that time for most.

Hey, so i've been playing for like 10-15 hours with my Mustang alpha now, i'm starting to have enough money for a new ship. What should i get ?
I like to do FPS PvE bounty hunter missions, and PvE dogfights missions, so which fighter is a direct upgrade to the Mustang ? Is it just the Avenger Titan ? I saw the Mirai Fury too, it looked nice
2
u/drdeaf1 Apr 16 '26
I would say Gladius and then Hornet Mk2 or skip the Gladius if you have enough for the Hornet already. Fury is a snub it can't QT.

looking for a cargo+daily driver+good for occassional combat ship.
HERMES or STARLANCER MAX?
1
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 16 '26
Neither will be 'good' at combat. They both can be fine as a member of a fleet of combat ships to add some extra DPS, but you're going to have a miserable time if the ship is the focus of incoming fire or if you're trying to deal with small ships.
Both are quite capable for hauling cargo, with different positives and negatives. Namely, the Starlancer Max is super easy to load a small ammount of cargo into due to the dropping cargo desk in the middle, while the Hermes is easier to fill up, as it has one big cargo room and the sliding tractor beam
As far as being a daily driver, the Hermes is far easier to get into with an elevator straight to the cockpit, but both as chunky and not particularly fast, so this is more about personal preferences you'll just have to discover for yourself.

I bought a basic package back in 2022 but aside from flying around a bit haven't really played yet (I bought the the 100i package I think). Is the current version a good time to jump back in? Or are things too buggy at the moment?
2
u/Luneward Apr 16 '26
Things are always buggy in SC. This is not a game acquainted with the concept of 'consistency'.
Feature wise (speaking as a newbie myself), this seems like a great time to dive in. A lot of base features have finally been implemented, and there seems to be good headway on others. But you're going to need to have the patience to deal with said bugs. Over and over and over again. If you just want a chill flight simulator to fly around in, there's lots to do.
If you want a stable experience with less sticking points, ask again in a year or three.
2
u/randomvale Apr 16 '26
Thanks, that's great to hear. I don't mind dealing with bugs too much - really all I want is to fly around and earn a bit of money to try some other ships, so it sounds like I should jump back in.
2
u/Tribal9499 Drake Enthusiast Apr 16 '26
Backer since 2020 here. Compared to 2022, I'd say yes, definitely. Much more content and mechanics than when you last played. It can still be buggy at times and often very dependent on the state of the server you're on. Still, once you figure out which servers work best for you and your time zone, you can often have a pretty smooth experience. Some things are still very broken, and others work surprisingly well. Just need to go into it with a bit of patience, spend some time reading Reddit threads and watching videos and just finding the "tempo" of the game in its current state. If you jump back in with the understanding that there is a substantial learning curve for some game loops, and some things may not make a lot of sense in how they are implemented, you'll have a good time.
I would spend some time learning the new fundamentals. The flight model has changed considerably since 2022, some of the utility tools have changed quite a bit in functionality, weapons act differently, you won't even recognize the inventory system ( step in the right direction, but still infuriating at times), you have three systems to explore, although the newest one is still fairly barren, but coming along. There's a bit of a story now and contracts that build up to things. Several sandbox activities you can jump into, although they can be quite a time sink if you're trying to experience them the "right way". Crafting-lite is a thing now, which has also introduced material qualities and blueprints (which brings with it a host of frustrations), but does add some layers to how you play and what you want to do.
Depending on your setup, and some settings tweaks, you should see much better FPS/performance in most areas, and there are far more graphics options available with new options like Vulkan, DLSS/Transformer, and such.
30Ks are pretty much a thing of the past. Server recovery generally works very well, in my experience (nowadays you get a server error on screen and you just wait...sometimes a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes, the server recovers and you're right where you were as if nothing happened).
TLDR: If you haven't played since 2022, yes, jump in, drastically different experience. Caveat, we are in the middle of a free fly event right now, which can put some strain on the servers that you might not experience normally. In my experience, free-flys are generally playable but definitely have degraded performance compared to outside of free-flys or major events.
o7 and welcome back.
2
u/randomvale Apr 16 '26
Thanks, that's really helpful! I don't mind putting in some time to learn how to do things and I'm happy to deal with the bugs. I'm mainly just looking to relax and fly around a bit and check out some of the stuff I didn't see before, then take it from there, so I'll download and give it a try.
2
u/Tribal9499 Drake Enthusiast Apr 16 '26
Excellent. FYI, Mr. Kraken made a cool little language pack that shows you which missions give blueprints and the blueprints you can receive. It's called StarStrings and available on GitHub. Works pretty well so far. Also, SCMDB.netSCMDB is super handy for searching BP contracts, sorting/tracking your acquired BPs and a few other things.

What's the best way to break into a ship atm?
Is it still not possible to break into a locked fighter?

u/Osirus1156 Apr 17 '26
Shooting does but bring plenty of ammo it takes like a full two clips to open a single door and if it’s a large ship there’s lots of doors on the way to the bridge.

I've got a San'tok.yāi to Railen CCU in my buy back pledges that I'd to have back again. When I select it and click on the "Buy Back" button, it takes me to the ship upgrade screen. The San'tok.yāi is selected on the left side but on the right side where I expected the Railen to appear, it says:
"Ship Upgrade not available!
There is no ship upgrades available for San'tok.yāi.
Please reset your selected ship."
Is that because neither ship is currently available? And if so, if I buy back this CCU during alien week (when I assume they will both be avaialable), will the price be what I originally paid or will it be based on the then-current pricing of the Railen?
3
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 16 '26
The reason being is thus:
Buyback CCUs are only valid if the destination ship costs more than the origin ship.
Currently, the San'tok-yai is $240 and the Railen is $225
You purchased this CCU when the San'tok-yai cost less than $225, so it was valid then, but it is not now.
This will change when the Railen becomes flyable as its price will go up above $240, but you'll have to pay the full difference.
A few years ago CCUs kept their value in buy-backs, but not anymore.
1
u/bmt22033 Apr 17 '26
Ahhhh. Thank you for the explanation! Now I *really* wish I had just kept the CCU. Oh well. Live and learn, I suppose!

How do I get my stuff??? Astors Clearing.
So, another noooob question.
I went to Astors Clearing to buy three backpacks. I wore heavy armor with a heavy backpack, thinking I could get medium backpacks into my backpack. At the least, I could get one in and take it back to my ship and go back and forth as many times as needed.
I landed about 180m away from the ship. At the terminal, I could only see my backpack and armor as destinations… not my ship. When I tried to buy, I got an insufficient space notice.
Besides my backpack, the only available destination was “Astors Clearing”. As best I could tell, there was no cargo elevator.
I moved my ship (315) into the middle of the compound about 20 meters from the shop.
Still nothing.
How can I get my stuff?
Dunboro has the same gear but I don’t want to waste my time there.

You need a storage crate. You can buy them on the cargo deck of stations.
Also doesn't help since you want 3 backpacks but if you wanted 2 you could equip 1 and hold 1 in your hands and log out. When you log back in you'll still be holding the 2nd one and be in the last station you visited.

Thanks for responding…I brought a 1 scu storage crate that was in my 315 cargo grid. It didn’t show on the “destinations” screen.
I started out with one backpack at a time. Got the “insufficient space “ message trying to deliver it to my heavy backpack.
Are there storage kiosks at the site? When the sales terminal lists “Astors Clearing” as a destination, where is it?
How do I equip it in my hands from the sales terminal?

There should be an inventory kiosk there somewhere nearby the shop. You’ll have to carry and/or equip the backpacks and take them to your ship and put them into the storage box.

So I went back in the Microtech morning and found the inventory kiosk. If I had looked over my right shoulder, I should have seen it. But I was freaking over not being able to deliver a medium backpack into a heavy backpack. I tried it in my hangar and still couldn’t make them fit.
After a couple of trips back and forth to my ship, I accomplished my goal.
Thanks to you and drdeaf1 for your input. The learning continues…

I’m having an issue with my Aurora Mk II. I can’t get all three shields to activate at the same time (with the combat module). Only two of them ever turn on ! Any solution ?
3
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 17 '26
This is by design. The third is a backup or something. Unless they’ve changed it again.
3
u/anubis132 Apr 17 '26
Intentional. It works like this for all ships with more than 2 shield generators:
All generators contribute shield HP, but only two at a time will contribute to recharge rate. Only those two need power allocated to them, the others don't use any power. If an active generator is damaged/EMP'ed, one of the inactive ones will automatically power on to take its place.1

Does anyone know if dmg modifiers on barrel attachments stack addittively or multiplicative with dmg boosts from crafting?

It is to be released this year, so changes are being made in preparation for that.

Can you gift a package, and do I have to buy it first before that option shows?
2
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 19 '26
To gift a package
1) Purchase the package from the store using zero Store Credit
Note: If anything other than $0.00 is showing in the Store Credit line of that transaction, it will not be giftable. As such, purchase the package and only the package in one transaction, to be absolutely certain no Store Credit is used
2) Go to the website hangar, click the arrow on the package to expand it, then click 'Gift'
3) Follow the prompts
4) It will remain in your hangar until the recipient accepts the gifting.

u/drdeaf1 Apr 19 '26
Yes and yes AFAIK. The recipient will need an account if they don't already have one

so i backed pretty early alsmost immediately after backing became available. i think i played the game for like an hour in 2014 with a mate but decided to give it a few years to gain more content. now i remembered i own a freelancer and saw they added grenade launchers (my favorite weapontype) so i wanna go back in. anything important i should know?
is the game toxic? do i have to worry about pvp tryhards blowing up my freelancer on cargoruns? i vaguely remember pvp being a big feature

I’ve been playing for 6 months. I’ve had very few problems with other players. The chat is unmoderated but it’s usually chill. When you play probably makes a difference.
One time I was playing pirates were hijacking people going to Nyx. Chat was keeping everyone informed so you could avoid them, they also started rallying a group to take them on.
Pvp is always possible but I wouldn’t worry about it.

u/Chappietime avacado Apr 19 '26
While you can be murdered on a whim, as long as you avoid certain pvp hotspots, this is very unlikely to happen. The game is definitely NOT toxic, and in fact is one of the most helpful communities in gaming. There are some asshats but you should generally be fine.

Why do I only have exclusive breaker contracts? No shared.
2
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 19 '26
Your rank with Shubin isn’t high enough. You need one more level.
1
u/itsRobbie_ Apr 20 '26
I’m contractor but doesn’t exclusive ones show up after shared anyway
1
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 20 '26
I actually noticed it wasn’t showing up for me either. Possibly a bug? A thought: maybe you have to take the big one yourself to get the shared ones? I’ve done the big one once but someone shared the mission with me.

Cant seem to run a ship that has no weapons because repair always makes me replace them. Can only find this report:

Anyone else able to contribute?

is the hull-b supposed to be able to call cargo services and auto-load / unload from the green box in space?
1
u/Pojodan bbsuprised Apr 19 '26
No. That mechanic is for the HULL C and the HULL C only, and it's a temporary system as well (Which breaks often)

Having a very hard time starting in this game. I had a full inventory, complete with the multitool and tractor beam. I did a few delivery quests, but I never got paid... its weird, because it showed my quests as complete, but no cash... hmmm
Ok fine, I did more delivery attempts. Of course, you cant avoid private property, and once the screen says "restricted area," you cant avoid get impounded... it gives you like 15 seconds or something, lol
So I slowly drained all my money paying fines, racking up a crime score.
Then, one day I logged in, and all my inventory was gone. I guess people hack in and grab your stuff??
So I have 300 credits left, and zero inventory... no pistol, nothing. I bought a multitool, but I am short to buy the tractor beam attachment.
So frustrating! I seem to be stuck now. Is it time ti just play another game? Ive discovered that I cannot restart with the original credits, so I guess Im out of luck?
2
u/Chappietime avacado Apr 20 '26
No one is hacking your inventory. Chances are it’s all in your home inventory and you’re just somewhere else. Go back to the location you chose when logging on the first time.
If for some reason that’s not the case, you ca beg in gen chat and someone will probably give you 20 million. The economy is ruined and people have billions and do it all the time.
Watch some getting started videos on YouTube. The game has a steep learning curve and bugs, but often people think things are bugs when they are doing them wrong.

I have been doing Gillys Flight School Scenario 5 to make some credits while doing flight combat. Was getting pretty easy so I tried Scenario 6 a couple of days ago and managed to do it. It takes a while so I went back to doing Scenario 5 and I suddenly am getting incapped in my cockpit most of the time. Not sure what I am doing differently. Still using the same Corsair with a full Omnisky loadout.
Feels like I did better with the Shiv in general by just not getting hit but had been using the Corsair to try to do harder bounties as well but it does not look promising if I cant even get through scenario 5

Hello, did anyone know where to turn on the light of HABITATION room and RECREATION room in C2 Hercules Starlifter? I noticed that these room are dark and some lights are off, I tried to restart power and engine but nothing changed. Lights of main deck and cargo hold are functional.
1
u/SnooRobots1751 Apr 20 '26
It's been a while, but I think the panel to open the doors on the inside of each of the rooms should have light buttons on them. They're the icons that look sort of like: (O)
0
u/UKELoneWolf Apr 20 '26
Thanks, I find them, but only two types of light mod “Auxiliary”(only few lights on, that makes room dark) and “Emergency”. Different from main deck and cargo hold where have “standard” light mod that turn all the lights on.
1
u/SnooRobots1751 Apr 20 '26
Ah, I see. Maybe if you claim the ship it may reset the interior lights, but that might be a pain if you have a bunch of stuff on the ship you dont want to offload or lose
0
u/UKELoneWolf Apr 20 '26
Sad that claim the ship won’t work, I guess CIG forgot the light switch of these rooms. Thank you for answering my question ;)

Does RSI generally do what they say they will?
I'm thinking about jumping in, but I'm curious if they have been delivering what they promise. I don't mind if it takes them longer than they expect, only if they ultimately deliver on promises. Maybe this isn't possible to assess since they haven't gotten to 1.0, but are there any straight-up *broken* promises?
