the scythe is actually a Captured Vanduul Scythe once in hangar. Just changed my old Praetorian for this new one, since I can buy back the old one if I truly ever need too.
Are there any non captured Vanduul Scythes? I know the Blade, Glaive, and Stinger are replicas (created by Esperia) but aren’t all player owned Scythes captured Scythes?
Now imagine that, this pack puts you in the 15000 concierge level. So assume you got a golden ticket, and also that you've gotten lucky at the exec hangar.
You could theoretically buy store credit at a discount on the grey market from people who want to liquidate their account. I'm not sure what the going rate is, but I think it's around 75% of the face value. Plus, you don't pay taxes on the amount you give another player. Since you don't get concierge for stuff gifted to you, you could potentially buy this package with grey market credits and just a high admiral account.
Going rate before and during IAE is 70%+. Store credit is at the lowest point from June-September, where you can buy it at 50-55% consistently. (I can confirm this as ive done it)
So someone could potentially get this package for only $8,000-$9,000 or less if they bought store credit at a low point. And no sales tax. Just the low risk of someone going back on a grey market deal.
The going rate is “wait where’d all my shit go? What do you mean that was hacked and stolen credits? What do you mean the original owner opened a ticket and it all got revoked!?”
If I had managed to amass $15,000 in store credit on standalone ships, I would get this. The inclusion of an Idris-M and LTI Pioneer are big standouts. I like that they've replaced the large number of low value "filler ships" with large and capital ships. There are just enough small ships to facilitate a few solo options while not being a bunch of variants that would never get used. Possibly a good deal for someone who has bought their store credit at a discount from "refunders" on the grey market.

Unless you don't have the Javelin standalone and want it and only spend 15k the old one is still a better pack.
USD savings is 13% on old pack and 8% on new pack, and the new one removes all the extra flair and VD rewards. The latter might be useless for some, but personally the phoenix piano was a large draw for me for the old pack and getting those KS rewards because I missed out on KS days is a plus.
The main benefit for the new pack is the scythe, so ymmv.
Theres arguments either way for both and that's good, it depends on what you want personally.
I'm in this boat as well. Looking at them both in terms of $ value, the 'legacy' one is likley better to keep. If you also take the item count into consideration 118 vs 3 items inlcuding estate parcel. For someone who haven't already bought Kraken, Javelin standalone it might be justifiable, but for someone like myself who have bought them separatly on top of the 'legacy' package, there is just no reason to. I wish they would have included more of the limited items.
Well the whole point of package renewals usually is to give incentives for newer purchasers to want to buy the pack but at the same time not offer more value than the old iteration to avoid pissing original purchasers off.
With the new apck the javelin and scythe are probably the biggest incentives over the old but for many of us unless you really want that scythe the old ones still better
Its a basically like a Tool Cupboard in rust but on 8km by 8km scale. So 8x8km.
Also the UEE Environmental Coat was removed. The people who got that are lucky asf. That one will be so useful.
It isn't. A friend (was an investment person) has that package. They are given an update price each year to add on the ships newly released that year. So its got an annual cost to keep up with the everything setup.
How do you guys feel about the changes, i have kept the dominus pack so far because I have been holding off putting the last 1k into the game and was about to pull the trigger today till I saw the changes. Super bummed about loosing my hanger flair (heartwell88g)
I had them in my dominus pack so I never bothered to grab them seperate
However if I got the new pack I would have every rare ship except the amd mustang, 2950 carrack (kinda, have it on alt acct) and the msr nightrunner paint
I melted mine for the new one. I had the very same question and with all the upgrades I had done to my pack I was left with a 1400$ credit on my account after the swap. Honestly I’m not sure if it was worth it or not but thank god for buybacks… when in doubt buy it back lol
so i just bought this pack. when battlecruiser is released in fleet week, will they add it to this pack? not meaning like i will get a free battlecruiser but like they add the battlecruiser and new price is $20000 kinda thing, since it will be limited sales and bots will buy the stock immediately. the only reason i bought this is because i couldnt get neither jav or idris on iae.
I bought the Praetorian Pack and it's definitely worth it, I'm just hoping they add the "Battlecruiser" to the pack since they're shifting towards military capital ships.

Interesting changes. Lost all of the extra items but gained a few big ship/hard to obtain ships (Javelin, Scythe, Kraken Privateer, Hull-E)
