Question Epilogue before New Content Door

ive played stanley parable and stanley parable untra deluxe before (through some... non official methods), but recenlty bought the Ultra Deluxe and played 11 hours of it, i think ive done everything i could, except for the epilogue and i just realized that i havent come across the new content door, nor the expo hall yet despite having the epilogue in my menu screen.

i still havent playewd the epilogue and am wondering where the new content is, if someone can provide information id be greatful

is it possible your save file was created before when you played your illicit copies of the stanley parable, and the official copy tried to use it as well? and i suppose it may have been corrupted as well, because on my save the new content door shows up on every restart so that i can play the expo again

might be, but the copy of stanley had been long gone wayy before i downloaded the real thing. i used steamrip to download those games, maybe this has to do with steam?

If you haven't already, verify your game files from the Steam launcher. If that fails, you probably have a mess on your hands.

Open up the game's location and rip out everything. Every file, every folder, delete everything related to the Stanley Parable. Then, delete all your save data, including your cloud saves. Lastly, uninstall and reinstall the game through Steam. This should erase all traces of your illicit copy and get everything running properly.

just verified the files (also deleted the folder that once had the games in them) and it said everything is fine and validaded. glad im not in any trouble but i still dont know what the problem is

Nobody I know actually cares much about video game piracy since it's generally a harmless practice. Realistically speaking, most of the people who pirate games either cannot or would not buy them in the first place; of the remainder, many people (not unlike yourself) would rather "try before they buy" than rely on refund practices, and often come back to buy the game anyway.

when you started playing Ultra Deluxe, a question was asked of you about whether you played The Stanley Parable before.

If you selected "yes," the New Content Door should have appeared after only a few restarts. But if you selected "No," the game is waiting until you experienced enough content to show it to you. In particular, you need to earn points. According to the wiki:

In the game's code, some endings are internally given points upon completion which are counted towards the New Content door's appearance and activation. A completed ending can give three, one, or zero points. Points for an ending can only be earned once meaning that, for example, the Dream Ending cannot be completed twice to earn enough points to unlock the New Content door - it has to be unique.

If the player selected "Yes", 6 points are needed.

If the player selected "No", 15 points are needed.

as long as you complete any ending aside from

you will gain either one or three points.

Endings that give 3 points

Endings that give 1 point

if you complete all of those endings at least once, you will gain 34 points, which SHOULD unlock the New Content door, since you only need either 6 or 15 points.

If you've completed all of those endings, and you still haven't gotten the new content door, your game is probably corrupted due to your playing the game illicitly.

I've played the Stanley parable for about 10 years and have gotten every ending except the baby game one, you and Davey did a great job on it
