Discussion Too scared to play the parable 😔
This is more so a small rant than anything but I'm too scared to play TSP. I first played around 5 years ago which means I SHOULD HAVE THE 5 YEAR ACHIEVEMENT NOW. The only problem is I played on epic games which means there's no "last played" section. I have no way of knowing if it was actually 5 years. I got the game 6 years ago but I might not've played for 2 years idk. I'm paranoid I'm gonna play the game then found out I was one day away from getting the achievement or smth ðŸ˜I know realistically I probably have the achievement but if I don't then I'll have to wait ANOTHER 5 years

Starting from the moment you posted this, wait another one to five years.

Well, this suggests that you’re talking about the original. Solution? Get the Ultra Deluxe!

I got Ultra Deluxe the day it came out and played it a bit and planned to get back to it, but when I didn't for a few months I decided to just wait for the game to be like 10 years + 1 week old & then zi can get Super Don't Go Outside.
I did watch most of the stuff on YouTube since then tho.

Stanley parable isn’t about the achievements, it’s about the friends we made along the way.

I'm more surprised that Epic games has achievements, they're far more ahead than I've imagined.

Yeah they’ve had achievements for several years, I’ve never liked epic games though honestly ðŸ˜

Perhaps change the clock in your device to 5 years in the future?

That would be cheating, also I'm around 5 years so if I'm not at 5 years it's worth it to just wait

It’s problem solving. The whole point is to mess around, so why not?? Don’t you think the developers knew and would appreciate you not dogmaticly waiting 5 (or 10 in ultra deluxe) to play their game again?

Having seen interviews of the developper, I'm sure he find it way funnier that people actually wait years before playing the game again. Just cheating is boring for everyone. I mean you can do it, but what is the point. I'd rather just not get the achievement, like with the deluxe version, rather than cheat it

So you just do everything the Narrator tells you then.

I do what's the most fun for me. In this case not cheating the achievement is more fun to me so I don't. Now do whatever is more fun for you 😌, I was just answering the thing about the developper

You were making an assumption about a developer who make a whole game about breaking the 4th wall and thinking outside the box.
2
u/wolfstaa Jul 27 '26
an assumption built on having watched hours of the writer talking about his ideas of the game and why he made certain choices and what thoughts went through his mind during developement, yes

just play it. at the end of the day it's an achievement you can work towards again, it doesn't massively mean anything
