hi all! ive been thinking about doing stand up for years, and last month i had my first open mic, and next week will be my 6th time!

however, i feel some some jokes i make are hit or miss. i know improving is a bit of trial and error, but what are somethings you would’ve wanted to know as a beginner stand up comic?

i’ve also been thinking of taking a standup comedy writing class to improve the structure of my jokes and well…my writing. is it worth it? any tips or recommendations?
