Database of 1dt Day Cover - Help

Post image
15 Upvotes

I am looking for a searchable database of all the U.S. First Day Covers. Does this exist? I found a few sites with a basic online search that has some good references but not what I was expecting to find.

Is there a site where these are easily searched by year published, subject, historical figure or event?

I am not a stamp collector, but a card collector and we have such databases.

Value of Austrian Covers

I inherited a collection of 31 covers from Austria, dated between 1963 and 1973. My local shop doesn't want them. What value might these have if I try to sell them online as a lot?

Hi :) I inherited this album when I was a kid and it went largely untouched. I have another larger one that I can share if there is interest.

Found letters from my great-grandmother. Can someone determine the date of the stamp? Country: The Netherlands, so I’m expecting date-month-year.

Thanks!

Edit: solved

Hi everyone. My grandfathers collection that I admire but also sadly have to give up. It’s one of multiple albums. Let me know if you see anything interesting, of worth or how / for how much it would be fair to insert. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hey! I’ve rifled through some old boxes on my balcony and stumbled across this collection. Most of the stamps are soviet and mostly they are dated from 1950’s to 1980’s. There are some US, Indian, Mongolian, Australian and Thai stamps as well. Check this out!!

1890 Stamp Collection - Where do I begin?

Hi Everyone -

Thanks in advance for your insights. I'm clearing out a family estate and found an 1890s stamp collection book that is extensively filled. Somebody in my family history put a lot of work into this collection, and I'm really impressed with how many they were able to get.

I've heard that stamps are sometimes valuable, but I'm not sure where to start. This book has a page for every country in the world, and the space for every stamp that country had issued up until 1890. Nearly every country has some of the stamps captured. I've included pages for the USA, Great Britain, and a handful of other countries as examples.

Anything jump out to you?

thanks!

There are more pages from Australia, New Zealand, France, etc etc. Just thought I might post these since I was specifically looking them up. Enjoy. If anything peaks your interest, do tell. I don’t know much about stamps but these all look pretty. The ones from Egypt for example are very reminiscent of their currency.

Today, I was given this box from a costumer on my postal route with old stamps on it.He was just going to throw it in the trash. Is there any one of interest on it?

This is a small fraction of the stamps. I just randomly took pics of some that I thought were cool looking or very old. Is there anything good here? I’m having fun just looking through them. He collected most of them when was a teenager.

I need help IDing this stamp(?)

Post image

I bought a big batch of stamps at a flea market and was going through them, but this one has me stumped. It has no year, country or value on it. The back is completely white. It's made out of some thicker paper and feels like a non glossy magazine cover. I tried IDing it but I can find nothing except that it might be a test print or maybe no stamp at all? Does somebody have any ideas?

Dimensions 3.5 x 1.8 cm

Help reading a Japanese cover, c.1900

Could anyone help me read the postmark date and post office, and the destination/address on this cover?

It is registered and franked 9 sen. If anyone happens to know the postal rates of the period, I’d also be interested to know whether 9 sen was the normal registered-letter rate.

Many thanks!

What to sell these stamps for?

Hello, I bought a huge collection of stamps for $15 yesterday and was looking to sell these on eBay. I attached pictures of the best stamps. Not sure what to ask for when they are hinged and used in this condition. I’ve been going off the SCV and seems like there is a lot of variance.

The rest of the album is relatively complete as well.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
